Myself, husband and 2 daughters (11 & 9) stayed at Sol Nesebar Bay for 10 Nights. We was very skeptical before our visit as we had never been to Bulgaria and also with negative reviews. We should of not worried, Bulgaria and the Hotel Exceeded all our expectations, which I have summarised below (sorry for the long review !) Hotel : Although when we booked we thought we would be staying in the Mare, however our transfer was to the Bay and that was in fact our hotel for duration of our stay. There are 3 Hotels, Mare, Bay and Palace. As other people have mentioned you have access to ALL the other hotels, with the only rule being you have to eat Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner in your Hotel and use of the sunbeds at your hotel. Food / Drink - My family and I honestly don't understand all the negative reviews regarding food. I have never seen so much choice for an All Inclusive resort. As well as all the choice in your specific buffet restaurant there are various options around the resort, such as Burgers - Bay, Donuts, Pizza - Palace, Pealla - kids Pool, Paninis, Ice cream - beach, Pretzen, Sausages - German Bar. All these are served within a specific time, such as Burgers 13.00-15.00. Please be warned the queue can be quite big and take some time, that's as the burgers so good :-) During your stay you are entitled to a visit at the Italian Buffet restaurant and the Chinese Buffet, we did both and the food was exceptional on both. If you are still hungry there are snacks in the evening, such as sushi in Bay hotel. My daughter is Coeliac and even in the main restaurant she had so much choice and the chef, Peta made her freshly baked baguettes and cake on request and made sure he himself showed her every dish she could or could not have. A big shout out to all the caterers and of course Peta for making our stay even more enjoyable. My daughter never went hungry !! Honestly, the buffet restaurant has so much choice, as well as the staple's, pizza, pasta, chicken nuggets. The choice of drinks was also very good. Every bar has a self serve for soft drinks and beer, as well as flavoured water. My husband and daughter's loved the self serve. They are literally everywhere, so no worries of the kids (or husbands) not having a drink. If however, like myself you want something more specific, such as wine or cocktail you have to queue and ask. We had no issues getting a drink from anywhere, whether it was Palace, Mare or Bay, the bar staff are always pleasant, no issues. Just can sometimes can get busy in the evenings during the show. Pools - Thought I would mention the pools specifically as there has been some negative reviews. As mentioned previously, you can use ALL the pools, just not the sunbeds. You always feel welcome, I did water Gym with my daughters everyday and we then stayed in the pool till past 1pm, with no issues. felt very welcome. There are signs saying only for specific guests, but again this is purely for the sunbeds.
