Easy to find in the old town using google maps, just ten minutes’ walk from the train station. The hotel is not on the ground floor of the building that it shares. When I arrived, I had to press a buzzer to get zapped into the building from the street & then it was into the lift (or stairs) & up to reception located on the first floor. I arrived at 13:00 not expecting my room to be ready but after just a ten-minute wait, I was told that my room was ready. A friendly, if not a little bit slapstick, (as a number of guests arrived at the same time to check in) check in then ensued with Ingrid during which I had to fill out a registration form & I was given info on breakfast times, my Wi-Fi code & a map of the old town. I was given two keys, one for my room & the other to access the building’s main entrance. With all that done it was off to the lift & up to my fourth-floor room. My room, no. 409, was a single room & just about big enough even for just a solo traveller. It was aged looking but clean & overlooked a busy street. Heat wise, it was very, very warm as the temperature outside was in the high twenties. With a laminate wood floor there were a number of facilities ….. wardrobe, smoke alarm, luggage racks, tv, mini bar (photo attached), work desk, chair, lamp, electric fan, trouser press, large mirror, radiator, single bed, small electric fan at the head of the bed & several spare electrical sockets. A large window gave a lot of natural light but unfortunately let in a lot of noise from the street below…people, traffic, music…well into the early hours. Closing the window helped but sleep quality was poor. Wi-Fi was hit & miss, quick to connect to with username & password required & had ok speeds but I had to re-enter the username & password whenever I returned to the hotel. The bathroom was small but clean with a tiled floor & walls, small shower cubicle, shower head & hose on a riser rail, easy to control shower valve, good water pressure & plenty of hot water, hairdryer, handwash & hair/body wash in wall mounted dispensers, mirror, radiator, electrical socket, ceiling vent, one bath towel, one hand towel & a floor towel. Breakfast was served from 06:30 to 10:00. I went down at 09:20 & it was busy, but I had no difficulty in getting seated straight away. Continental buffet - it was excellent with a good selection of good quality products – yoghurts, cereals, fruit slices, cheese spreads, croissants, breads, toast, scrambled eggs, sausages, cheeses, salami, cold meats, boiled eggs, tomatoes, smoked salmon, tomatoes with melted mozzarella, honey, jams, seeds, raisins, dried cranberries, fresh whole oranges, apples, pears, bananas, blueberries, grapes, kiwi slices, a vegan selection, teas, coffees & a large number of fruit juices. Checking out was as friendly as checking in had been but without the panic stations. I left my luggage, for a short time, in the secure complimentary left luggage area. Great location next to the Hangman’s bridge and island. The staff were super friendly and very helpful. Couldn’t do enough to help, which was great. Excellent mini welcome muffins. Thank you. The room looked lovely and modern. But when we saw the air-con machine we we’re grateful for this. But the machine pipe had to go out of the window otherwise the pipe pumps hot air around the room. The lead for this would only go in one place by the window and wasn’t strong enough for the room size. As I said we were grateful for this, but another oscillating fan may have been a better option rather than this machine. The beds were a little firm and not enough pillows. We were only here for one night so it was ok. The toilet also occasionally continued to fill up after so many flushes. We had to flush again to stop the water noise. A small rig by the bed on the wooden floor would have been a nice touch as well. Great choice in the minibar too! Warning - there is NO lift. Overall a lovely traditional hotel, but I don’t think we wouldn’t stay here again.

Beautiful hotel, central location, clean. Excellent swimming pool and spa. Excellent service, I forgot a sweatshirt in the room (a gift I am very fond of) and immediately they found it and sent it to my home address. Nice and good breakfast. Super recommended!

This is a really nice, modern hotel right around the corner from the Hauptmarkt. It's just a short walk to many major tourist sights including the Imperial Castle and Nazi Art Bunker. We had a king room overlooking the front that felt rather spacious. The room and all the amenities were great. I had to take away a star for the hard bed. It was incredibly uncomfortable and too firm and I woke up with back pain. Thankfully we only stayed one night. There is a parking garage under the hotel but our van was a little too large for it. So we parked at another parking garage about a 5-10 min walk down the street for €18 a night. Well worth it if you have a large vehicle and want to keep it off of street parking. I emailed the hotel weeks before our arrival asking about parking for a large van and they promptly answered with directions to the other parking garage. The hotel is in a great location. Plenty of coffee shops, bakeries and restaurants within a short walk. We did not buy the breakfast at the hotel due to the many other options nearby. The hotel does have free coffee and tea before 10am; after that, it's €4. Except for the hardness of the bed, we enjoyed our stay at this hotel, largely due to the fantastic location. I’d still stay here again if we return to this area.

Bit more soul than the typical hotel in this price range. Rooms bigger than average, mini bar had free water (still and sparkling), great smelling toiletries. Attached to nice wee cafe bar, gave us drinks to take to our room at night and served us breakfast in the morning - the star of the show, incl in price. Table service of delicious breakfast dishes (please eat as much as u like). Great coffee and rolls. Loved it!

Wir (3 Generationen) waren für 3 Tage zur Stadtbesichtigung im Burghotel. Wir haben uns das Hotel ausgesucht, weil es einen Pool + Saune anbietet. Die Erwartungen haben sich auch voll erfüllt. Das Wasser war warm. Einen kleinen Fitness-Bereich gibt es auch. Die Sauna - ab 17:45 Uhr nutzbar, war eine prima Ergänzung. Die Zimmer sind absolut ok - nicht groß, aber das haben wir auch nicht erwartet. Das Bad sieht neu aus. Die Schiebetür aus Glas ist ganz praktisch, wenn es auch nicht gerade Geräusche dämmt. Das Frühstück war ok. Kleines Minus: Der Kaffee war nicht so richtig heiß, der Wurst- und Käseaufschnitt sah ziemlich nach verpackt aus dem Supermarkt aus. Die Croissants waren nicht ganz durchgebacken. Also da wäre noch etwas Luft nach oben. Es war mir nicht so wichtig, dass ich es monieren wollte. Alle sind sehr freundlich und zuvorkommend. Fragen werden gerne und geduldig beantwortet und Wünsche soweit möglich erfüllt. Wir würden wieder hingehen.
