Ayook

Lovely, very clean, small boutique hotel with many decorative touches to make you feel at home in Oaxaca. Rooms are small but quiet; beds are comfortable and purified water is on continuous supply. Staff are courteous and most speak some English. Got some great recommendations for places to eat for dinner. Was able to walk all over El Centro Oaxaca from the hotel - just a 15-20 min walk to most sites. Breakfast was authentic and delicious and the attached cafe was much appreciated on a night when we were too tired to go anywhere else. Highly recommend if you are happy with clean, quiet and real and don't require luxury accommodations.

We stayed at Ayook for the month of January. Loved absolutely everything about the place. The staff (Natalia, Emmanuel Mario, Rita, Iliana, Kristina, Max, Lina) are amazing. (I hope I haven't missed anyone!). Breakfasts are a joy... Authentic Oaxacan cuisine. The place is spotless...You can literally eat off of the floors!. The rooms are extremely well, designed holding us and our baggage effortlessly. Really comfortable beds. Quiet tranquil surroundings. Great rooftop with hammocks that hold a six-footer with ease! I had many-a-snooze there! Located an easy 10-minute walk to the centre of town. Laundry, supermarket and traditional markets are all next door! One note, the windows for the rooms are traditional shutter-style. No glass. Keeps the place cool and quiet...they open fully should you like increased light and ventilation. We never needed to use our AC unit even on those 30C days! In short, a gem of a place with outstanding staff and charming amenities.

Beautiful, quiet hotel. Like many places in Oaxaca, this was a hidden gem. Walking into the hotel was so relaxing and calming. The employees are lovely. Breakfast was one of our favourite parts of the hotel - tables set up outside of your room and as soon as you’re ready (within breakfast time), you sit at your table and receive service. The food was lovely too! We also loved just chilling on the rooftop in the hammocks. Amazing value for money at AYOOK.

Located 20 minutes from the airport and 8-9 blocks from city’s Zocalo. Location is great for walking, safe and quiet. Plenty of restaurants , mini supers, supermarket across the street and a small Park. The place is very unique in the decor and very quiet and relaxed atmosphere. On the second floor it provides a full stocked coffee and tea bar with sitting outdoor areas. The third floor has a terrace with hamacas and great views. Rooms are small but equipped with smart television , comfy beds and big windows to Own patio chairs along the corridor. Friendly staff breakfast included. Front desk arranged transportation to airport.

Ayook is a wonderful small hotel, full of quirky artistic touches. It is spotlessly clean, the beds are very comfortable. The hosts Eduardo and Natalia were always ready with helpful advice. They serve breakfast outside your room at a private table. These are delicious, but we found the coffee to be very weak. This could be improved It is about a 10 minute walk from the Centro Historico, and although on a noisy street, when you step inside Ayook it is like a fragrant oasis of calm.

Ayook was an amazing place to stay, highly reccoment it. The hotel is in a great location walking distance from restaurants, markets, shops, areas of interest in central oaxaca. The breakfast included in the stay was an amazing oaxacan hot breakfast, fruit, sweet breads and coffee served outside the room. So nice to sit on the boucany amongst the Mexican Textiles and cactus garden. Check in was easy, transfers from the airport was easy as the taxi's new Ayook. The facilities were clean and comfortable and staff were very accommodating. Thanks for having us!

Exceptionally friendly and helpful staff. The breakfast here is top notch too served quickly and with great variety. Big rooms with comfoy beds and cracking aircon. Location wise about a kilometre from the main historic centre so a relatively quick walk away.

I stayed here with 2 friends for my first visit to Oaxaca. The hotel was spotless. The staff were so helpful with everything we needed and the front desk staff spoke English well. Every morning we were offered 2 choices for a Mexican breakfast along with fruit, juice coffee and bread. The food was delicious and fueled us for the entire day. The hotel is an easy 10 minute walk to Zocale and a perfect pick up point for our day excursions out of the city. The gracious hotel staff made the stay here perfect!
