Hotel 3 Bintang di Oshu

This hotel has a very old feel to it - feels historic. Rooms haven’t been renovated so most of the wallpapers were peeling and the cigarette odor in the room was so strong even though it was a non-smoking room. I understand the wear-and-tear but housekeeping didn’t even do a good job in cleaning the room. There were a few pubic hairs spotted inside the toilet, on the floor, and even by the shampoo. Don’t even get me started the things I saw under the bed. The good thing about this hotel is its location and proximity from the train station - this is why I gave it 2 stars.

Oshu is my wife’s hometown where she hasn’t lived since high school. We took a long holiday there in July-August, with our daughter, and stayed the whole time in the Plaza Inn. The hotel has one suite on the top floor, which we occupied. It has a spacious living room and a separate bedroom, with wonderful views over the town to the mountains beyond. It was a very comfortable stay of over two weeks. The place really felt like home. The only complaint I might have is that the hotel could use some renovation. Although it nowadays is a nonsmoking establishment, some of the public areas still have a faint odor of cigarette smoke from bygone years. The hotel has two restaurants, as well as a cozy coffee lounge. We’d eat breakfast at one every morning. It’s comfortable and the quality is good, although the Western style breakfast selection is somewhat limited. They also serve Japanese and Chinese breakfast. The Western style restaurant is a popular lunch spot, especially among local ladies. The Japanese restaurant, Kikusui, is one of — if not — the best in town and also very cozy, serving a variety of smaller and larger Japanese dishes, as well as a great selection of sake and shochu. Plaza Inn is located in what can be termed the “new center” of the rather sprawling town with a great variety of good restaurants and shops within a walking distance. There’s no doubt we’ll stay there again.

Yakeishi Dake Onsen Yakeishi Kur Park Himekayu is located in Ichinoseki and about 30 minutes by car from Mizusawa Station. The hotel is located near Chuson-ji temple and Geibikei valley. Guests may borrow conveniences such as desk lamps at no additional charge (please inquire at the front desk for details). Facilities include a communal bath, a sauna and an open-air bath. The hotel possesses 20 guest rooms.

Nice to have laundry facilities on the ground floor of the hotel building. However, the dryer does not work too well. Finally, just brought up the semi wet laundry to hang up in the hotel room

Shugyoku no Yu Yakushido Onsen has mountain views, free WiFi and free private parking, situated in Oshu, 25 km from Chuson-ji Temple. This 3-star ryokan offers a 24-hour front desk and a lift. Guests have access to a sauna and hot tub. The ryokan will provide guests with air-conditioned units with a wardrobe, a kettle, a fridge, a safety deposit box, a TV and a private bathroom with a bidet. The units are equipped with heating facilities. Guests can also relax in the shared lounge area. Motsuji Temple is 25 km from the ryokan, while Mizusawa Station is 4.8 km from the property. Iwate Hanamaki Airport is 30 km away.

因為要參加馬拉松活動下，才訂此地點的酒店，設施和房間也一般，不知道真正的房價，因為在活動下沒有其他酒店選擇而且房價提高了，以我訂的房價對性價比便不太值得。
