Hotel Andromeda is an excellent opportunity for an enjoyable stay. We liked the luxe room with view on the sea and terrasse on the very top. The breakfast is gorgeous. The wellness center is absolutely great, with exception of the harman as the temperature is not high enough. The personnel acted great and was responsive. The overall atmosphere is fantastic.
Hotel Mercure Oostende

Been to this hotel several times over the past years. They provide consistent service. Good location. Good, friendly and efficient reception. Sometimes there's a queue for check-in (even after online check-in) and check-out (even when opted for fast check-out), as there is no separate desk for members. Nice, clean rooms. Slow elevator :-) And, also consistently (so not a one-time-off), totally overcooked scrambled eggs at breakfast. So, quite a few plusses and also a few points of attention. But I am sure I'll be back.
Thermae Palace

Very nice room with stunning view over the beach and sea. New carpets in the corridor and in the room. Check-in was a little dissapointing: nothing warmfully welcoming and rather quick (although no other guests were waiting at that time). No extra info was given (restaurant times, fitness, town, etc.) and no info on having to validate our parking ticket (we found out by coincidence the next morning). We ordered something at the Brasserie to take to the room: a duo of garnaalkroketten at 25EUR: all we got were the 2 kroketten! They did'nt even come with a small salad or anything. That is extremely expensive and they looked ridiuculous on a big white plate! Breakfast is until 10am which is a little early for a Saturday morning. We called reception (no indiciation in the room how to call reception, so we looked up the hotel's number on our phone and dialed from there), to ask for a room service breakfast. The lady kindly transfered us to the Brasserie. 2min1/2 later we got someone on the phone who probably thought we were staff the way he answered. He couldn't answer about a potential room service breakfast so we got transfered back to reception. The lady apologized and said it was actually not possible anymore to have breakfast at all. She didn't have that info for us in the beginning of our call? So we ended up going to a local bakery to have breakfast. In general everything could have been beautiful, except we didn't feel service! We felt as if staff was in its own world, and certainly not attentive to guests. Which is a shame. It doesn't give us the motivation to book there again next time...
Hotel Bero

We stayed at Hotel Bero with our 2 little kids. As we read quite a few negative reviews on outside noises, we asked beforehand if they could guarantee a quite room. An employee called Sébastien confirmed vie e-mail to give us a room without air condition or other noise outside. Upon arrival they gave us a room next to a construction site with nonstop noise from 7am to 5pm. When we complained, they kept putting us off till later (“construction will stop tomorrow”, “I will talk to the management by tomorrow”), but nothing ever changed. They only offered another room with air condition noise outside. After the 2nd night we couldn’t handle the noise anymore and decided to go home early. When asking for a compensation due to Sébastien’s wrong written confirmation and unmet agreement, they stopped being friendly: “What did you expect when booking a hotel in the city centre?”, “This would not have happened, if you had taken the room next to the air condition”. They said they could not to more for us, but refused to give us the management’s phone number – because of data protection, while on the same hand, they had an applicant’s CV lying on the reception counter for everyone to see. Adressed to that, the receptionist yelled at us if we wanted to threaten her – she could not see how she was applying double standards. They did not give us a compensation (“because until now you used all the services, like breakfast”) – except for offering a voucher for our next stay, ironically: We left early because of the poor circumstances, why would we seriously go back to a place with noise and lying employees? I would not recommend it to anyone. We wasted a lot of money on a noisy non-relaxing holiday.
