My review is only for the restaurant, as I didn't stay at the property. The restaurant was fantastic! We had such a great night, the food, the wine, dessert, all delicious, and the service, outstanding. Highly recommend it!

Great stay- beautiful property and peaceful, with pool and common area lined by fig and blackberry trees. We had dinner on site 2/3 nights and the food was amazing, with great local, natural wines featured on the wine list. My husband and I agreed that the tuna (cooked in a peppercorn sauce) was the best tuna we had ever had. The service was also outstanding. Would recommend to anyone and hopefully will return sometime in the future!

This masseria is what you’d expect as an ancient farmhouse converted to boutique hotel. Gorgeous white washed interiors, simple but classy furnishings. Very high arched stone ceilings in the rooms giving a feeling of space, stone floors, white wooden wardrobe and trunks, fluffy towels and slippers, smallish shower with curtain and good quality toiletries provided. Grounds are spotless and very well maintained, large pool area with adequate sun loungers, plenty of shaded areas with comfy outdoor sofas and chairs, together with ponies and the delightful braying donkey, Filipo! Staff super friendly and extremely helpful and breakfast and dinner in the outdoor terrace was lovely. Food tastefully presented and flavoursome. If I had to sum up this masseria in two words it would be rustic elegance.

We spent 2 nights here and had 1 meal. It is definitely in the country, with donkeys braying and dogs howling. Yet it feels cosmopolitan. The size, design and function of the room were excellent. The property is very photogenic and authentic. The meal was not memorable but it was fine.

we spent 4 nights in Masseria Montelauro and has a room on the side of the swimming pool the rooms are big and you have all you need but no luxury : the shower is with a curtain and this wet curtain is not pleasant : it is not for modern hotels they should change it the breakfast is very good and complete the garden and pool is nice and very quiet you can go to the different restaurants in Otranto which is pleasant in the evening there is a nice a**osphere we liked this masseria and the service is good and friendly Christine and Ludo from Belgium

Ci sono stata a cena per il mio compleanno. Location si presenta molto curata e romantica. Cibo ottimo e ben presentato. Ottima anche l’accoglienza ed in particolare le attenzioni alla clientela del cameriere Stefan. Da provare!

La masseria nel complesso è molto bella, niente a che vedere con il ristorante. L’area ristoro, infatti, è molto asettica e impersonale, come il cibo che offre. Antipasto di pesce spada arrivato ancora congelato, immangiabile. Orecchiette alle cime di rapa senza infamia né lode: l’acciuga scritta nel menu, probabilmente, la staranno ancora pescando. Pessimi gli spaghetti alla chitarra: la besciamella in scatola del supermercato viene spacciata per crema al pecorino ed il guanciale sta ancora aspettando di essere abbrustolito. Prezzi da ristorante milanese (media di 22€ a piatto) non giustificati nè da materia prima nè da estrosità dello chef. Il servizio non alla portata del costo della cena, veramente di basso livello. Unica nota positiva il vino e i limoncello offerto dal receptionist (molto simpatico) a fine pasto.

Sono tanti anni che trascorri una parte delle mie vacanze nella Masseria Montelauro dove mi sento a casa. Dalle proprietarie , a Renato il direttore e tutto lo staff, fanno a gara per rendere il soggiorno indimenticabile. Sempre di “essere a casa”con il vantaggio di essere completamente “ accuditi”. L’ a**osfera e’ meravigliosa, c e’ molta tranquillita’ ma allo stesso tempo allegria e bellezza. A pochi km c e il mare piu’ bello del mondo e paesini barocchi da visitare ( oltre Otranto naturalmente) Vivamente consigliato.
