Pretty nice hotel, we were satisfied with our stay. We were visiting for 4 nights 5 days and took advantage of our complimentary breakfast. Was decent minus the coffee. Wasn’t very good but we are picky with our coffee so pretty minor. Location was great as we could walk to just about everything we wanted to see. Rooms were clean and liked the setup. Staff were friendly and the bartender at the restaurant had a great attitude. (Can’t remember his name sorry) If I had one complaint it would be there’s a bit of a wait for elevators when busy as there’s only two to serve 17 floors. Overall very nice hotel, definitely recommend

This was my first-time stay at reStays Ottawa. I booked four suites for a team business trip in April 2023 (2- and 3-night stays). Very glad to have chosen this hotel over my other go-to's! This is now my Ottawa favourite and I highly recommend it for the following reasons: - Value: Great for this calibre of amenities (spacious, new, clean, modern in-suite furnishings, well-equipped kitchen, and thoughtful provisions, terrific meeting spaces, public amenities - what a view on the 12th floor). Comfortable bedding for several nights of good sleep. - Service: Front desk staff (Josh, Mark) were very helpful with our requests. - Location: Excellent! Short walking distance to Parliament, Rideau Centre, Byward Market, etc. Whether for short or longer stays, I highly recommend this gem of a downtown Ottawa hotel.

Great location, service was a bit on and off, as staff was not always the most helpful. In any case, I'd definitely recommend over other choices nearby. I'll definitely stay again, and hope that meanwhile staff is a bit more professional.

Meh. Not bad at all, but not great either. Given everything is self-service, I would expect they would pass on more of a cost savings. The price and quality is comparable to a Super 8. A little edge for one here, a little edge for the other there - overall pretty similar value - except everything at Sonder is self-service, like an AirBnB, and zero amenities. Given this, in the future when I'm staying budget, I'll look to Super 8 or similar. For example, I was travelling with family. You can only book one room at a time. After we booked I called a central number to ask if we could have adjoining rooms. At first he said he couldn't help at all since the room allocation is done by computer. After some light encouragement he did at least get us on the same floor.

Room is clean except table space a little too small. Breakfast is good especially the hard boiled eggs which were without the shell. I love the various range of coffee provided: light, medium and strong. I took the Strong version and it tastes very good even without sugar and milk. Location is very convenient with ample parking lots. Staff are friendly and helpful
KKseniia KoshevaiaOur stay at Sonder Rideau left us with mixed feelings. On the positive side, the hotel's proximity to historical sites made it convenient for our travel plans. However, the absence of on-site restaurants was a significant downside, especially for those looking for a seamless dining experience.
The cleanliness and overall atmosphere of the hotel didn't meet our expectations. We found ourselves missing the comfort and satisfaction that a well-maintained environment can provide during a trip. It's crucial for prospective guests to consider these aspects when choosing accommodations.
In summary, while Sonder Rideau offers a location ideal for history enthusiasts, the lack of dining options and the subpar cleanliness and atmosphere may leave some travelers wanting more from their stay.
PPengguna TetamuStayed at the Novotel for a week in early Feb 2023 while attending a conference at the nearby Westin. I booked for a really low rate through hotwire. After a pleasant check in I was excited to come into a very large on the 8th floor with a separate seating area and a very large TV. Room was pretty clean although when packing up before check-in I found some items under the bed that did not belong to me. Location was perfect, right across from the Rideau Centre and the Westin/Conference Centre and within a short walk to the Parliament Buildings, Sparks Street and Byward Market. My only compliant is the walls must be paper thin as I could hear the ding of the elevator and conversations in the hall from my room. I was also there a four hour during a power outage in the evening. I assume the outage was unscheduled but there was a lot of confusion and no one at the front desk when it occurred. The hotel shares a building with a DND office which made it confusing leaving the building by the stairs as the stairway lead to a entrance that read ”DND property alarm will sound”, it took awhile to figure out how to exit by the stairs.
AAlicia York-BirdI loved this hotel! A little off the beaten path, but worth it due to good pricing and proximity to Tanger Outlets and the highway.
I've visited twice now and will be sure to book again when needed.
Pros: Rooms are a very decent size, and the hotel just opened recently as of this review, so everything is gleaming clean and new.
The beds are very comfortable, and the bathrooms are lovely.
Cons: The TV could be a little larger, and I'm sad that despite marketing materials to the contrary, we weren't able to connect the TV through my YouTube account as I have been able to do at other hotels, but it was a small disappointment compared to the pros.
My largest concern is how quickly the right-hand elevator door closes without warning; it bashed me a good one as I was walking in , and while I can take it.and brush that off, had that been a small child they could have been seriously hurt. Please get that checked out.
In summary, I will recommend this hotel to anyone who wants a clean, quiet, recently priced place to stay while visiting Kanata 😁
PPengguna TetamuThe Fairfield Inn was as good as you could expect for a lower-priced hotel near hockey venues. We stayed for several nights for a kid's hockey tournament. The good: Staff. While fairly short staffed (it seems that the night we checked in, there was literally one staff member who checked in, got cots, made any room changes, etc.) the staff was super pleasant and helpful. The manager even gave our group of players and parents complimentary access to a boardroom so we could have meals together and get out of our rooms a bit. So a BIG thank you to that wonderful person. Location. Easy access to ice rinks, the Senators arena, and lots of shopping and restaurant options. Not close to downtown in any way, however, so if you're there to ”see” Ottawa, this isn't the place for you. The good-enough: The rooms are fine. Large enough for our hockey family of four, but no door separating the bedroom from the rest of the room. Handy to have a fridge and microwave. Beds are comfortable enough and the rooms are generally soundproof enough. For this kind of trip, the hotel was adequate. Breakfast was fine. Lots of carbs, and it seemed like the staff were trying to throttle how much people ate by putting out refills in very small ”waves” (like, refilling the muffin basket with... 4 muffins). I would suggest making your way there early and with lots of time before departure if you know there are lots of families in the hotel, because the good stuff goes fast and isn't replenished quickly. The bad: Don't, for any reason, attempt to use a cot as an additional bed for your trip. It was basically a set of springs wrapped in a sheet (zero actual mattress padding) - no one in our group would even think about sleeping on it. We slept on the couch cushions instead (ick) and still were charged the $15 extra bed fee. The extra bedding wasn't in very good shape, also (major ick). Bring an air mattress and your own sheets if you need a bed outside of the pullout and other bed.
PPengguna TetamuStayed at this hotel recently during March break. Check-in was very quick, as I did the online check-in beforehand. I got the room I wanted, away from the elevators. The hotel lobby and common areas were very clean, as was our room. The room was quite spacious, we opted for 2 Queen Standard. The complimentary breakfast had lots of warm and cold options. The ladies running the show were super nice and very helpful. As soon as an item ran out, they replaced it immediately. The desk Manager was also nice. My only complaint was the noise inside the room. We would get an intermittent noise that sounded like fireworks being launched. It was a bit disruptive. Also, I think the heating system was quite noisy too (or it was another non-traceable noise). The indoor pool is very tiny and there is no hot tub (which would have been nice). Overall, nicely appointed hotel and well-situated
AAlicia York-BirdI expected more from Glö than I received. I chose Glö as a ”treat” for a couple's getaway, as it was a newer hotel and appeared like it would be snazzier than the usual fare.
Pros: The bathroom was very nice, and the complimentary toiletries are top notch. The rooms are very clean. The mattress was very comfortable and the TV was a decent size.
Cons: The rooms are incredibly small, and while they are nicely furnished, the tiny ”couch” seat was more form than function (i.e. prettier than it was comfortable). The front desk staff seemed very new and clueless on basic hospitality essentials, like how to work the in-room television. It also took ages for a response from front desk on how to work the TV and the issue wasn't even resolved.
I probably will not stay here again nor would I recommend this hotel to anyone I know, as there are so many hotels to choose from in Kanata that offer better, more knowledgeable service and better pricing.
PPengguna Tetamuoverall stay was completely good but this building does not have free parking, they charge you 22 dollars for underground parking or outside parking as well and no security for car they said car parking is always at owner's risk. thats only a negative point otherwise room was clean, no disturbance, breakfast was good.
PPengguna TetamuThe motel is dated, but clean, and the bathroom had been redone. The location was great for our purpose of seeing Parliament Hill and the area around there; we could walk and save expenses. The staff was friendly and helpful.
