The LaLit Grand Palace Srinagar

Fabulous location, we were welcomed very warmly and the car was valet parked which was important as it was cold and raining. We were offered a warm drink and a comfortable place to sit whilst the formalities of check in were completed. We didn’t even have time to finish our drink before we were offered an upgraded room at no extra cost. WOW! The room was spacious, beautifully dressed and we were shown our own private balcony with the most spectacular view and this was also very nicely furnished. Everything was as we’d hoped and expected, because the hotel is EXPENSIVE, but we received exactly what we paid for. All the staff were attentive, friendly and helpful. Unfortunately the Pandemic has affected everyone and this hotel has had to do it’s best to survive these difficult times. The facilities in the Spa have been cut back to save costs but when we went to use it the place was warmed and treatments were enhanced to ensure we were more than satisfied. Luxury is expensive and we really enjoyed the pampering!!! All I can say is that this hotel and the treatment of their guests is everything you would expect for the price you have to pay. If wehad unlimited money we would stay only here when we visit Kashmir, which I do often to visit family. Even when we do visit family here we often visit the hotel, just to enjoy the gardens and admire the building and the ambience. Although we may not spend one penny on these visits the treatment by the staff has always been the same as we experienced on this visit. One word to describe this hotel FABULOUS.

We were guests of this extraordinary hotel for about ten days and we want to recommend it to those who will travel to Srinagar to discover Cashmere. The hotel is very beautiful and perfectly maintained immersed in an immense garden of centuries-old plants and flowers. The staff is very professional and helpful to make your stay unforgettable. From the Front Office Manager Mr. Hasamsha who wanted to give us a little souvenir upon departure, to the Restaurant Manager Mr. Ankit who always made sure that the cuisine was to our liking. In fact I must say that Chef Laxman stopped by the table very often to understand what our tastes were and to prepare special dishes for us. We were truly pleased by this and would like to extend special thanks to him. In the restaurant room we have always found a great welcome from the coordinators Mr. Umar and Mr. Shabir and from the very kind M.me Shaima who we remember with immense pleasure. So thank you dear friends for the wonderful experience. We will give you the publicity you deserve because with you the customer can spend a different holiday, rich in cultural content in an environment full of history, with uncontaminated nature and friendly and professional staff.

Special thanks to Mr Singh. The General Manager, who graciously took time out from his busy schedule to give us a heritage tour of the hotel. We learnt so many things about the history of the hotel and how it is being restored kept alive by the current owners. The food was extremely good. It was liked by the kids as well as the grown-ups. The room very clean and staff looked after us 24x7. We had a medical emergency. The front desk came to rescue not only by getting us a doctor, but also at 2 AM in the morning they got us the medicine. This really helped us a lot in a crisis situation. It’s the most picturesque hotel in Srinagar as it overlooks the famous Dal lake. The gardens are impeccable and fruit trees are untouched. It’s a must to visit this property. If you have to make a choice make this your choice. Thank you.

The rooms were spacious and spotless, with great décor and crisp bed sheets. The breakfast buffet was delicious, with a huge variety of options! The staff during breakfast and dinner were attentive and went out of their way to ensure that we were comfortable. Nothing was too much trouble. Saima, Umar and Wasim were amazing and wonderful. They made our stay very enjoyable. Much thanks for there excellent hospitality!!! A special thanks to Deshraj at Rejuve Spa. He has over 30 years experience as a massage therapist. He is always smiling and full of positive energy. The full body massage I received from him was incredible and invigorating.

Wonderful property....location is also jist amazing....Anamika , at THe Chinar restaurant is jus amazing ahe takes care of everything so well...highy recommeded....thanks for an amazing time...food is also really good.....in all perfect place for holidays

We were first turned back by the security guards, however, upon insisting we were allowed to enter. We simply wanted to have some food and drinks at the restaurant. However, we were told that the place was booked for a wedding. After we entered, we went to the dal bar and was greeted by the wonderful hostess Anamica. We had some great cocktails and some appetizers before we headed to our dinner at the Taj. The food was great and the cocktails were delicious. The service was impeccable and the property was fantastic surrounded by mountains.

Overall stay was excellent. The staff were very friendly. I had a veg thali in lunch and it was too good !! Many thanks to Ankit Diwedi for making sure that veg food is served to us during breakfast and dinner as well. He was excellent. Many thanks GM of the Hotel for making our stay comfortable. There is no match to the location and the property is superb!!

Spent our marriage anniversary in the Chinar Restaurant. Absolutely loved it. Services provided especially by Mr Sohail were extremely good. Looking forward to coming here again on our second anniversary and other important occasions of life that will follow.

Let me add a twist to the famous line about Kashmir and say this : "If there is a hotel with a heavenly experience in Srinagar, it's this, it's this, it's this". This was our second stay at the Lalit, Srinagar and the property is still the same beautiful place it was nearly ten years ago. Picture perfect property with sprawling and well manicured lawns, Chinar trees in abundance and an overall relaxing ambience. To be honest, our three nights here were much more enjoyable than the sum total of other tourist spots we went to in Kashmir.
