I have stayed multiple times at the hotel over the last 10 - 12 years and have been satisfied with my previous stays. It is the first time I am visiting in the last 4 years and it was an average stay this time. The first thing apparent on entering the premises was that they appear to be understaffed now. The parking area was nearly full and there was no security person to help with parking my car. Later on, the same thing was visible at the restaurant, where just 2-3 people were struggling to manage the show. The room was comfortable, but showed its age, with the furniture and doors not coping well. The towels were old and worn out. The big advantage with the hotel is its location right next to the base of the hill, close to the walking path up the hill.

Hotel Ganpat is located in Palani which is sacred place and is famous as one of the sacred six-padai veedu temples of Lord Murugan. The hotel is located 2.1 from the Palani Railway Station and Palani Bus Stand is just 1.0 km which gives easy mode of transportation. The famous tourist excursions nearby are Idumbar Kudilkal Temple(230 m), Thiru Avinankudi Temple(700 m), Palani Hills(18.4 km), Varathamanathi Dam(9.1 km) and many other where guest can enjoy the scenic beauty of the city.Ample conveniences are offered at the hotel to suffice the varying requirements of guests. Hotel sownthariyam is a decent stay providing bare minimum facilities needed for a pilgrimage tour. The room we opted had cupboard with hangers, attached washroom with wc and shower, balcony, dressing mirror, tv, ac. Room services, cleaning, hygiene was all up to the mark. As it was peak season, we faced issues in parking our car on sun-day as they allow hotel gowri shankar customers to park within the hotel premises. Other than this hiccup, rest all the facilities was provided well.

Good stay, clean room, good parking space. But path to temple is not clean. Temple is nearby in 10 mins walkable distance. You will have to ask to get the required accessories. Room boys will be behind you to get tips, but they will be a bit reluctant to provide the room accessories until you ask for it. You will have to travel a good distance to find a decent hotel. Shree lakshmi bhavan was my choice.

This is a neat and well maintained budget hotel close the Palani bus-stand. It is in a small lane and hence parking is a bit difficult but available. The rooms were clean and hygienic. Only issue was the room size. It can accommodate just 2 adults - no more. We were a family of 2 adults and a kid and it was very difficult to squeeze in.

During my visit to palani temple, we stayed at ganpati grand and had a wonderful experience. All staff especially reception staff were exceptionally helpful. Hotel is very close to the temple entrance, making it very easy to access both ropeway and foot steps. Rooms were spacious and clean. They also have ample parking in their premise, which is another plus point. Overall we had a great stay, and i would definitely book here again for my next visit.
