We booked 2 nights to start with and then added another night. The main reason we went to Pangkor Island was for the hornbills. We wanted to stay close to the hornbill feeding. It turned out to be a great spot. There is a big tree over the road they hang out in early morning and late afternoon. We did the hornbill feeding but at another time to get a different perspective we went to the roof. The hornbill feeding guy told us another place to see hornbills easily and we are glad we went there. It was a lovely spot and we were able to watch the hornbills getting up to mischief. Up on the roof there is an infinity pool. There is a little wall between shallow and deeper. The wall gave some shade to the shallow pool in the afternoon. Room security seems good. When the door is closed it automatically locks. Sometimes the door gives off a little alarm if you don't enter the way it wants. I didn't work out why it happened. It didn't happen often- it may have been if the handle was held down to long. The staff are lovely. There was no laundry service. We stayed an extra day and the entry card needed to be activated for an extra day. More security. If you want your room serviced, just put the sign on your door and it happens promptly. The shower had a curtain to mostly keep the bathroom dry. The water was the warmest we have had on our little trip. The staff were friendly and helpful. You can hire scooters from next door. They aren't the cheapest but it is convenient and they are reliable( the tank may not be full when you get it). We would stay here again.
