I’ve never bothered writing a review before, but felt so strongly about the service I received at this resort that I felt I needed others to see this. We travel quiet a bit and have always heard great things about the Atlantis. We’ve vacationed around the world at expensive 5 star resorts and have no problem splurging if we are getting a great vacation experience - the Atlantis did not live up to the 5 Star standards we would expect. I’ve stayed at 3-4 star hotels with better customer experience. I think it’s probably because of the 15% auto gratuity added to the bill, but we did not encounter a single employee who seemed to care about the job. Most of the time we felt like a nuisance when we would request something, even just ordering a drink at a bar. Employees will serve you while talking on the phone to their friends/family, and not even bother making eye contact with you. We stood in long lines at the Cascade Restaurant with 6-7 employees behind the counter, only 1 took orders while the others watched. All the guests in line looked at each other shocked. There were multiple occasions where 3-4 employees stood by a door while my wife struggled to push the door open and get her stroller through with our infant. There are many other instances but I think this really tells the story. I would save your money and just visit the resort for a day if you’re really interested. The rooms are nice and spacious at the Reef but the service was a massive turn off. I will never be returning.
