I didn’t book a room in advance when travelling to Paris. Because I couldn’t pay it by a bank card, so I decided to book and pay it on spot. I was looking for a hotel in the city centre, because it’s very convenient for sightseeing and shopping. Having red about a lot of hotels, this one attracted me more. According to reviews it was nice, clean and with polite staff. Well I took a taxi at the airport and came here. I was met by Jihad first. I’m very grateful to him for recommending me the best room with wonderful view to feel Paris atmosphere. By the way the hotel is really cozy and extremely clean. Super-location: 10 minutes by foot to the tour bus station near the Opera, where you can buy ticket for one day and easily watch all the sights of Paris at 2 banks. Shopping is also near the Opera. 40 minutes walk and you will see the Eiffel Tower. Actually there is no need to use transport at all. I’m happy that my intuition prompted me to choose this particular hotel. And all the staff is wonderful and polite, ready to answer all the questions. Jihad thank you once again for made my trip unforgettable!

I have just returned from 3 days (2 nights) in Paris with my sister and cousin. We stayed in a triple room (one large double bed and a single). The hotel is quirky and stylish. It is clean and looks very tidy and well-maintained. The team at the hotel were so helpful and welcoming to us and ensured we had everything we needed - they even offered advice about safety whilst out in Paris etc. They kindly stored our luggage for us before check-in and after check-out so we could head straight out to the city to explore. They also made sure to let us know that they were there 24hrs a day to assist. The room was very clean, comfortable and spacious. Nothing seemed tired or needed a refresh. The bathroom was immaculate - fabulous shower over bath. Our room had a separate toilet from the main bathroom, which was actually really great for the three of us - however, there is no sink in the toilet room; certainly not the end of the world, but it would have been even more convenient. Having a more ”Parisian” view would have been wonderful, but I understand that rooms with special views are limited and possibly unavailable for triples. I'd also imagine there is a slightly higher nightly rate for this. The location is perfect - a stone's throw from The Moulin Rouge and the Pigalle and Blanches metro stations. It is right on the edge of the busier, older streets of Montmartre and within a 15min walk of the steps of Sacré-Cœur. Personally, I love this area of Paris as it gives true Parisian vibes and shows the more romantic, bohemian side than perhaps the more central areas do. Just to note that sometimes this area can feel a little more unsafe than other parts of Paris, especially at night, and some interesting characters are roaming the streets (as with many cities!) This is when the staff at the hotel reminded us to keep our bags close. But if you are savvy, polite and sensible, this really shouldn't be a problem. The negatives are minimal; we were exceptionally lucky with some warm spring weather, which meant the room got hot! We cranked up what we think was the fan/air-con, but it made little difference. We couldn't open the windows to sleep as the area is bustling and can be fairly noisy at night. I think possibly the air-con for the building wasn't yet on, or something like that, but it wasn't a huge issue. I've got no doubt that we could have called reception for a fix should it have bothered us enough. I would stay again for the location alone, but the cherry on the cake is that it is genuinely a very lovely, reasonably-priced boutique hotel. We are already planning to head back to Paris very soon and wouldn't question staying at Le Chat Noir when we do. It will be my first port of call, and I will also recommend it to my friends and family.

The hotel is situated in a small road opposite the Moulin Rogue. The outside façade is okay to look at but inside the hotel is really cramped. The check in desk is right at the entrance with a small lobby with a sofa on the side. The check in process was quite smooth The lift is really small and rickety and is difficult to take up your luggage. The common area and the room is carpeted which is not clean and does smell. Three room doors open in a small vestibule and as you enter the room you suddenly feel claustrophobic because the room is really small in size. Two people and the luggage can fit into the room with a bit of juggling. There was a window which opened into the backyard of some other property and loud noise could be heard from it, though if the window was closed the noise was much less. The bathroom also was small but had the essentials and a shower. A small table is snuggled at the foot end of the bed and over it a small flat TV hangs There is no air conditioning though the console is there and in our 6 days stay there it never worked. There is no fridge or coffee unit in the room. For the coffee one needs to go to the lobby, pay and get a cup of coffee. The breakfast was included in the price and was average European breakfast . There were two helpers to put boiled eggs on the table or clear the dishes away. The hotel is situated in a bit seedy part of the city but does not bother you so much. The best thing though is that Metro and bus are very conveniently located and one can travel around the city.

We stayed here for a birthday weekend and it was amazing, the staff are so lovely and cannot do enough to help you. We were especially impressed by the staff member in the breakfast area who made a special effort to go out and get extra bread. We also were treated with respect and welcomed! When we left and waiting in the reception area the concierge made us two coffees without any trouble. The rooms are quite small but this was expected due to the way Paris is, however we loved it and the boutique feel was amazing, the breakfast was continental with plenty of choice, this did also have scrambled eggs, pancakes - they also served sausages and bacon on alternate dates, the amazing place the breakfast is served in a beautiful area at the base of the building which really gives it character. The bed was very comfortable and the whole hotel is very clean. Location is really good too with Moulin Rouge at the top of the street and easy access to lots of public transport routes and metros. Thank you for an amazing stay on my first visit to Paris

This is a great little hotel in a perfect location in Pigalle for the Moulin Rouge. I stayed with my sisters. The hotel was clean, felt safe and the staff very friendly and helpful. The rooms were comfortable and quiet. There is a 24hour tea/coffee room which was useful. I would definitely recommend, it had a nice feel to it. Would definitely stay here again.
