WOW. What else can you say? Arrived after a long day of sightseeing and was informed that all members of our group had been upgraded to a villa. The villas a free standing buildings on the grounds away from the hotel, and they take you to them in a golf buggy so you don't have to walk. The villas are HUGE! I couldn't believe this whole space was just for me. You get a lounge room, huge bathroom with claw foot bath and separate shower and toilet, a bedroom with a king sized bed and your own massage room! There is also a small butlers pantry for the use of the butler attached to your villa. One of my favorite things was actually that there is a space in the bathroom for your luggage so you don't have to mess up your sleeping space with your suitcase. You can really spread out your belongings and hang stuff up and there's room for more than one bag. The resort is high on a hill and the view from the bath is amazing. Had dinner at the restaurant one night and it was lovely as well as drinks at the bar. The staff were also really friendly and helpful. They also have an archery range so you can try Bhutan's national sport which I thought was really cool. The only thing with this place, and it's not a complaint just something to be aware of, is that it's really far out of town. It's not walkable to get into Paro so you will need to catch a taxi - I think they may have a shuttle, but don't quote me on that. I did manage to have a look at the hotel rooms, which to be honest are a bit plain and dated for the price being charged (the villas most certainly are not at all). They have a pool and the spa looks nice too, but didn't have time to try either of these. The only small problem I had was it took far too long for them to get the luggage to our rooms. We had been hiking and then rafting that day and had a short turn around at the hotel to get changed before attending a business dinner in Paro. It came time to leave and my luggage still had not arrived. I was still damp, sweaty and quite a mess and there was no way I could go out like that, especially to a business function. My luggage eventually arrived and I was forced to have the quickest shower of my life and run (couldn't wait for the buggy) to reception to meet my group and guide - I wasn't even the last one to arrive. Overall, it was a small thing that was annoying, but didn't really taint my experience of what was otherwise an absolutely wonderful stay.
