Valentin Somni Hotel & Suites

On day 3 today and overall it’s a nice hotel. There are a few things i think are worth mentioning before i’d recommend the hotel. The first thing we noticed was that the shower leaks at the bottom of the door. Since the shower cubicle is in our room (as it’s open plan) we’ve had to place a towel outside the bottom of the door to prevent a puddle in our room. we weren’t the only ones with a shower problem as we spoke to another person visiting and they said they had a similar problem. The staff are friendly and have had no problems with rudeness and have helped where needed. We didn’t realise that you have to pay for the water here as we asked for tap water with dinner and were charged for bottled water. i’d suggest bringing your own bottle if you didn’t want to pay an extra £2.60 for 500ml water between the two. Considering water is free with breakfast and we’re half board, i would also like to think it’s a necessity with dinner. I would also check prices of drinks before you order as i’ve had to take back a 200ml cocktail , with two large ice cubes , in a plastic cup, back to the bar for a refund as i was charged €8.50 for it. The previous day i was charged the same, however the drink was, this time, bigger than my sun cream bottle. The last thing is, i understand that the hotel is newly renovated which is clearly stated on the holiday website, however, it is STILL UNDER renovation. Outside of our room are still building site noises which can be disturbing at times and this is also heard at breakfast as it’s in the room next door to the dining hall. I know this won’t be forever but for the time being the building work seems to be on going and can be disturbing. There are things in the advertisement such as a gymnasium and spa/massage area, however, when we arrived and looked around, the gym is not ready and there is no spa nor massages available.

My husband and myself came to this hotel on the 5th of May. I understand the guests that arrived the week before us, had a rather unsatisfactory experience. Whilst there are still some minor issues, we have in the main had a great time here. First the problems, the toilet roll holder fell off the wall. The shower can cause a mini flood, if not angled correctly (this can be trial and error). The rooms follow the modern design, which some find difficult, the toilet and shower are separate cubicles with frosted glass sides. This is fine for my husband and myself, but would find it off putting if I was sharing with a friend. The wardrobes are the open design, with only two drawers (we left underwear in our case, so it was fine). The room is light and bright, with attractive decor. There is a good mirror with light surround and socket nearby, making it easy to get ready for dinner. There is a good hairdryer in the room to. Most importantly the beds are very comfortable, with quality pillows. The hotel is in a quiet area, with the main ***** and beach a short walk away. A kettle and fridge are provided, which is very handy, but you have to source your own coffee, tea and milk. The staff have all been lovely, and we have felt very welcome and looked after. The pool area is nice and clean, with plenty of sunbeds. We have enjoyed the evening entertainment, and the quality and price of drinks is good. I have enjoyed some of the daily activities, provided by Victoria. All in all we have enjoyed our holiday, and have met lots of lovely people.

Visited opening weekend , builders still on site , lots of snagging and health and safety issues to resolve , suggest checking with tour operator before arrival. The toilet cubicle and show cubicle won’t be to everyone’s liking, plus our shower leaked all over the floor … no gym or sauna available, no coffee making facilities other than a kettle and cups …. No complementary water as you would expect in a deluxe room? Food good quality and selection , struggle to replenish when busy , and table service struggled with drinks and clearing tables …. Roof top terrace furniture covered in dust and not cleaned properly during our stay …. Lots of exposed wiring and trip hazards …. Pity it was not completed before opening , they have lots to do in coming weeks to achieve the standards they are aiming for.

The hotel is not finished - it is under construction. I don’t doubt that it will look beautiful when it is complete but please check on the status of the renovations before you book! Lots of brick dust / noise / unfinished fixtures and fittings, wires trailing, people painting etc. We were only here for a few days so to move would have been very impractical. Other frustrations included not having the room cleaned daily, I had to go to reception and ask for clean towels/glasses to be brought up. Tea and coffee facilities were provided in the room but no actual tea and coffee. The food was not to our liking but as it wasn’t a huge expense to stay half board we didn’t find a problem with going out to eat. The rooms do not have a separate bathroom, just a toilet and a shower in glass cubicles within the room, which was fine for us but if you require more privacy this is something to bear in mind as there is none. If we were staying for longer we would have upgraded to a larger room as it’s not enough space for us, especially with 2 sets of luggage to store too. Positives - It is in a quiet location, but very centrally situated. The roof terrace area is very peaceful with plenty of places to sunbathe, the lobby is decorated beautifully and the majority of the staff are very friendly and helpful. Paguera is beautiful and I would return - but not to this hotel sadly.

WARNING - hotel is NOT ready for guests!! Newly renovated isn't correct - very much under construction. Arrived yesterday to half open hotel, pool wasn't open, builders everywhere, no facilities open (gym, sauna etc still a long way off being ready, apparently haven't even started on the gym yet!) Roof bar not open, no entertainment, water running through the light fittings at breakfast this morning. Needless to say we have now moved but please do not go here in May, save yourself the heartache and distress that we have endured on our first two days. A weeks holiday has now been shortened to five days and started with a huge amount of distress. The hotel will be beautiful i'm sure but wait till it is ready for guests. It is a disgrace that they are taking people in when it is so far from being complete. All guests on arrival were complaining and trying to get moved. So sad!

The workers were amazing, in the recepcion they were so nice with us because we couldn’t make it on time because our flight was cancelled, but they accepted it. Thank you for the pleasant welcome from the director. The restaurant was beautiful with many foods which were so tasty and you can choose from many variation. The animators were cute and helpful, we played bingo with them. The waiters and the boss of the restaurant were so helpful and everyone was smiling. Thank you so much for our staying, we want to come back. 100% recommended!!

At first we had booked an ordinary double room- 19 m2, but upon arrival we found out that it was too small for us -19 m2 is really not enough, so we upgraded to an Apartment the next day. Apartment is located in the renovated block A, across the street from the main building, it was good value for money. We loved it! The Apartment - 40 m2 was beautiful, modern, spacious, with its own huge terrace, on which there is its own large deck chair with shades. The apartment has a kitchen, a living room, a bedroom, a wonderful bathroom with two sinks and even its own dressing room - a room for clothes. There is stunning large spacious shower.You will find everything you need there,I also appreciate hygiene items (a large amount of shampoo, large shower gel, large soap).We really couldn't have chosen better for our honeymoon. I want to highlight the hotel's services, especially the food - it is at a high level here. A wide selection, fresh, tasty and also nicely arranged, they have themed evenings here - to which they adapt the selection and the imaginative decoration (once there was a Mexican evening) very nice. We have been in many hotels and this hotel should get one star more, because at least the food here is at the 4-star level. Very nice and helpful staff!

Where to stay a well run clean establishment. From the housemaids to the waiting staff nothing is too much. Every attempt is made for you to enjoy, the entertainment and facilitators are good. Reception are very helpful to your needs. The breakfast is outstanding and pool area is well maintained, overall an excellent place to stay

We booked our flights for 9 days on the island over the Easter period. We have a hire car and book our hotels as we go along. We literally sat outside this hotel and booked it for 2 nights as we liked the resort and the hotel looked quiet and clean. The staff and service The service was impeccable, all staff were polite, friendly and attentive. There was a mistake regarding our bill, which was our fault for booking as we did and not checking if the payment had gone through. We’d realised but weren’t worried, yet on our return from our walk the staff on the desk were apologising - it was not a problem and easily sorted. The service at the table was efficient but again calm and not intrusive. Orders were taken, drinks arrived and plates were cleared promptly. The food He quality of the food was very good, even though we came down later on the first night the food was fresh we particularly commented on the salad bar as nothing was wilting and it all tasted great. The selection was varied and there was obviously a Mexican theme evening on our first night. The room We just had a standard room, it was only for a couple of nights. It wasn’t large but we enjoyed a sea view and it was quiet. Just like the rest of the hotel it was immaculate. Location Just a few roads behind the beach and the main *****. This added to the calm feel. It was easy to walk down but you didn’t feel you were living in the middle of all the action. The area was noticibly peaceful. We had a hire car and we were easily able to park right outside the hotel. This is a hotel that we will be returning to, it was the highlight of our holiday. We stayed in 5 different hotels this trip from 3* to 5* and this was our favourite.
