Fonab Castle Hotel

We had an entire wedding party and immediate family all staying at Fonab for a wedding in the Highlands and the location, facilities, and service could not have been better. We held the rehearsal dinner in their dining room and the food, service, and location was perfect. The staff is so friendly and accommodating. Location is great.

Although the hotel is a bit dated, the staff are helpful and friendly. Our room was clean and the beds were comfortable and we had a nice outlook over the garden. We opted to have dinner in the bar.We chose nachos to share which were nice, however we both chose the fish and chips and the chips were good but the fish was encased in batter reminiscent of captain birdseye fish fingers in batter. Very disappointing as we expected fresh fish dipped in a light batter deep fried not the triangle of bought in fish in batter. Breakfast is buffet style and was fine with a choice of cereals, fruit, croissants and cooked breakfast. There was entertainment on the evening we were there and the singer was very good. The hotel also has a range of board games you can borrow. Access to the town is very easy by foot as you can go down some steps in the garden area and walk down the hill to the Main Street in about 5 minutes. Overall we enjoyed our stay
Craigvrack Hotel & Restaurant

This hotel is based just up a small hill from the town centre, bear this in mind if you are booking as not everyone is able to walk it. It is within easy walking distance of all the bustle of Pitlochry. The staff were so friendly, warm and smiley. The room we had was small but functional , very clean. The hot food for breakfast was good, the cold selection could benefit from a little increase, there was not much choice, it was also be easier if the hot drinks and fresh juices were moved away from the cereals, toaster and yogurts to help with traffic flow. We will definitely be be back. Have a fabulous weekend. Thank you

Arrived about 430pm and check in was fine although parking was a bit of a pain we managed to park on an adjacent street as the small car park was full. Room was fine looking over the main street of Pitlochry and we ate there on the first night. Once again the food was fine but after paying the bill I noticed a service charge had been added, I'm sorry but it's not for the hotel to decide how much to ”tip”, that's for me so that was a negative. 2 days breakfast were fine with a menu of various things and then make your toast/tea etc. Staff were friendly enough although I'm not sure residents got any special treatment for staying there. Would i stay there again ? Absolutely yes I would which says the small problems are easily fixed.

We stayed one night in a lovely twin room with a corner aspect so 2 great views of lush woodland and old architecture, including a lovely chiming clock tower. Swimming pool was lovely and breakfast was delicious , and promptly served. I loved how you could open the window, some hotels have them sealed shut and it gets so stuffy. Staff members were also lovely. I would definitely go here again. Also , so centrally located, minutes from the bus stop!

Very central hotel. Stayed in a twin Cosy room. Looked out to train station. Walked in and first impression was poor as the one window was filthy looked like it hadn’t been cleaned in a very, very long time. Room was clean but very basic. Tea & coffee in room which I like. Iron and ironing board which was good also. Parts of the hotel look dated a but tired, not like what is shown in the tv advert. Room was very hot but there was a fan in the room which was helpful as it was needed. Breakfast was delicious, I would stay again because of the location. The staff at check in were very helpful especially when I arrived and there was no space in the car park. Although we didn’t eat in the hotel it looked like they served lovely food. Live entertainment in the bar of hotel on Saturday night. Lovely courtyard area if you want to sit outside or have a walk around. All In all it was pleasant enough, I’d go back just a real shame about how filthy the bedroom window was couldn’t look out to enjoy the view.
