Knockendarroch Hotel

Had a lovely break here, the food was amazing, I loved the food, had a garden room which was great with our own little patio, the staff were all very nice, everything was great from start to finish, would defo stay and eat here again. We loved it, thank you!

This was our second stay at Knockendarroch, our original stay back in 2016 was amazing and we were very excited to return again. We had such a lovely stay, the food was even more delicious than we remembered and the staff were all so welcoming and kind. I just wanted to say thank you to Louise and all the wonderful staff at Knockendarroch who made our stay really special. We hope to return again soon and in the meantime will be daydreaming about the gorgeous food again.

From the minute we arrived we were made to feel special All the staff are warm and friendly and the room was beautiful and the view stunning Eating in the restaurant is a must as the menu which changes nightly is outstanding and fine dining at its best It is beautifully presented using local ingredients and I am already thinking about the next trip

From the minute we enter the front door we feel we are at our favourite home from home and enjoy seeing our Knockendarroch " family". We absolutely love coming here and have done so for many years, several times a year- it's so, so good! The team of staff that Louise and Struan have are fabulous, nothing is ever too much to ask- they are highly trained and efficient. As for THE BEST CHEF, Nick is hugely talented and every meal is superb, he always comes to chat with us- another family member ❤️. In my opinion, you will struggle to find a better place to stay, 5 stars all the way!

Lots of 5* reviews about this hotel however in our opinion it didn't quite hit the mark. We had booked for 2 nights b&b in a balcony room then added on dinner at a later date. I had requested an early check in which of course we didn't get however we just walked down into the centre until we could check in at 3pm. The room was on the top floor and as this is an older building there was no lift and the stairs up the 3rd floor were quite steep. The room was lovely, well maintained and spotlessly clean, good bedding, pillows and towels in the bathroom, there were the usual amenities in the room with tea/coffee and a biscuit. The view from the balcony was stunning however we couldn't sit on the balcony furniture as the chairs were in poor condition due to being rusty and uncofortable which was a disappointment. Sadly being invited for drinks and canapes in the lounge before dinner made me think this was a complimentary drink, however that wasn't the case. There is no bar so it's waiter service which was absolutely fine, once seated they bring you a drinks menu which you choose from and the dinner menu, the waiters' were attentive considering their time is split between serving in the lounge & the dinning room. There is absolutely no atmosphere in the lounge and it's very hard not to tune into other guests' conversations if they are sitting close by, definately some gentle background music in here and in the dinning room wouldn't go amiss. The chef is talented and the food served in the evening was excellent, well presented and very tasty, breakfast was decent as well but no different from other hotels we've stayed at, I did ask for baked beans however I was told they don't serve them. The staff were friendly and efficient and the housekeeping team and the chefs an do amazing job. Although we had a pleasant enough stay, Knockendarroch is not a hotel we would return to. For the price the hotel charges we expected something outstanding and it didn't live up to our expectations especially after reading all the positive reviews but this is only our opinion.

It's not often that you can describe a hotel as 'perfect' but Knochendarroch really is. Our room was lovely and well equipped (including tea and coffee facilities) and had good views over Pitlochry to the surrounding hills. The food was outstanding, with a menu that changed every day, and the service from all the staff was impeccable. Both breakfast and dinner were a delight. Glad to see that dogs are discouraged, not being allowed in the main hotel building. We were sorry to leave!

Really enjoyable stay. Lovely staff & food. Stayed in a garden room which was lovely. Hotel handy for town Main Street. Extensive & reasonable wine list. Stayed 2 nights & it was good to see menu at dinner changed each night. Good choice for breakfast. Would recommend a stay here.

This hotel had a discounted rate from £357.00 down to £257.00 per night. While I could say the room was nice the bed wasn’t very comfortable as they had put twinned beds together creating a ripple down middle of the bed. The breakfast was meagre to say the least and the scrambled eggs were slimy. I couldn’t eat them. Tbh if I’d have been charged £357.00 I would have been very let down.

We were looking for a hotel near enough to Blair, this one was recommended and wow what a great find. For us from arrival on Friday to departure on Sunday we would say 5plus star. The grounds are well kept the outside of the buildings very clean, even the area outside the kichen very tidy, many 5 star hotels we’ve stayed in this area always lets them down, not here though. The staff are all to be highly commended for their professionalism, kindness and ability to make you feel valued. The rooms are all individually decorated we had a room on 2nd floor with a lovely balcony overlooking the village and the view was awesome. There is no lift so take your time with luggage upto room. Immaculately clean as is the whole house. Bed was one of the most comfortable we have slept in. Breakfast was individually prepared and delicious. Dinner is a must, include it in your daily room rate when you book. When check in give them a time to eat. We loved it when we came down for dinner we went to drawing room, ordered drinks and chose from a varied(changes every night) menu . When drinks arrived came with canopes. The wine list is excellent and they have an extensive range if single malts. The food is in our opinion worth a Michelin star. This is a hidden gem of a hotel and massive thank you Highly recommend but book dinner in advance and ask for a front facing room, if you can afford it treat yourself to a suite ,
