I had good experience overall. Nice staff. Bathroom could have veen cleaner and the location is a bit far from the beach but close to walmart.

Letterlijk het beste hotel aan de riviera Maya van Mexico in de categorie "goedkoopste prijs" voor een 3-sterren hotel. Eerder 4-sterren. Schitterende locatie, met waanzinnig goed EN goedkoop eten bij de restaurant boven en dan ook nog eens 10% korting voor eigen gasten. Werkelijk schitterend en meer dan enorm aan te bevelen.

Stayed as part of our G Adventures tour. Booked 3 nights before and didn’t need to move room when we joined the tour which was great - thank you! Restaurant available - ate breakie and dinner. Both nice meals. Affordable. Rooms have AC and are nice enough - basic but clean. Short walk down to 5th Avenue. Excellent location to supermarkets. Strong WiFi in rooms too!

First, the positives: The hotel's best feature by far is the rooftop, which has two separate pools, a bar and lots of space to lounge. The staff are friendly. And the location is a close walk to the ADO Alterna bus station and big box stores (Mega Soriana and Walmart). However, a few things to keep in mind: It's not right in the tourist area, it's at least 20 minutes walk to beaches, ferry pier and ADO Turista bus station. Most rooms look directly onto a wall (no view) and the windows don't open. If you are sharing a room with someone keep in mind that the shower enters directly into the room and the sink is also in the room (only the toilet is in a private area). The music from the rooftop bar can be a bit loud if you are directly underneath. Although the rooms are nothing exciting, it is a pretty good and friendly option if you don't want to be in the main tourist area or want to be the near the bus station to access the airport.

This was the first hotel I stayed in in Playa del Carmen, starting off my solo trip through Central America. I should say do not book a hotel transfer through *********** as it didn't work and I was left stranded. Checking in wad straight forward enough. The rooms are usually twins or doubles, they are clean and the air con is great. Free shampoo too which is fantastic. The rooftop bar is quite nice and the food I had for breakfast and tea was nice enough. Having been other places in Playa del Carmen it is probably quite cheap to eat here. The staff are so friendly here. Also a fabulous location as near two big supermarkets and about 10-15 minutes walk to the beach.

I asked for an upper floor,but was told none was available. The wifi and strange TV were spotty,though I did get to watch Newsmax for the very first time.The Internet went down the day before I left but they sent a repairman quickly so I could check in for my flight.I left for the evening and when I returned my Fire Tablet was missing and I though maybe the repairman had taken it by mistake.This is the first time I've had anything stolen from a room in 30 years. It was upsetting and the deskman gave me no solace or or offer of compensation.

We had 5 lovely nights here at 12 Bees. Everything about the place is pretty simple but the facilities on the roof, and the daily room clean take it up a notch. I had read reviews about room windows facing a brick wall etc – which was true. We had to go out front to the open hallway to find out what the weather was like each day, but that didn’t matter to us. In the room you just get the basics but it was clean, the shower was good and the bed comfy. We bought ourselves a travel kettle, and a polystyrene cold box – both locally sourced in the Aki – sorted! The first night we tried the house restaurant on the roof and it was delightful! Subsequent visits to the roof pool, terrace and bar were equally impressive and enjoyable. Located 10min stroll down to the main ***** – take in Zitla on the way if you get a chance, it’s a little treasure!

Great hotel to stay when you want good quality stay, your own room/bathroom, and a fair price. It’s a short walk to 5th Avenue, bank and supermarket around the corner. You can find great streetfood and restaurants all around it. The staff is super helpful and gave us lots of advise, the rooftop bar has good food (had breakfast there multiple times - those prices were in line with other breakfast places around). In short: if you are not looking to stay in resorts and like to do some exploring in your own this is the place to go!

We didn’t actually stay at the hotel but our cheap hostel didn’t have a pool and they were very kind and let us use theirs. We just had to buy a few drinks at the bar! Very nice staff. Pool is small but does the job. Especially when it’s seaweed season on the beach!!
