Apartamentos El Palmar

Late with this review but we had such a good time there I needed to review it. Stayed at El Palmer November 2023, 1st time visiting Grand Canaria. Rooms were clean and spacious, only thing missing was air conditioning but we were provided with a fan. Nice balcony with table and chairs to sit outside with a nice view. Pool area was lovely especially with it having some Bali beds to relax on and I especially loved going up to the roof terrace in the afternoon to sunbathe. Breakfast was adequate, it definitely set you up for the day, loved sitting outside for breakfast. Staff were all friendly and helpful especially the lady who cleaned our room. Hotel is in a really good location although you do have to climb down quite a few steps to get to the beach & the bars ( didn’t bother us) just mentioned it for people who have any disabilities. Would definitely recommend this hotel and wouldn’t hesitate to go again if we are staying in Playa del Ingles. Thanks for a lovely holiday and great memories.

I just wanted to say a huge thank you for the amazing week we spent at your hotel! Everyone was super friendly, especially Raquel at reception, who was so helpful and supportive. Our cleaner was also really nice and made our stay even better. The rooms were spotless and had everything we needed, plus the WiFi worked perfectly, which is always a plus! The facilities were top-notch, and we really enjoyed our time there. We’d definitely book with you again next time we’re in the area! Thanks again for everything!

El Palmar is a quiet hotel, the surrounding area is quiet too. Although the beach and Dumas of Maspalomas are only a few minutes walk away. The Yumbo centre too, is just a short walk away. The staff are wonderful very helpful and friendly, nothing is too much trouble. Next time will be our 3rd visit.

Stayed here with my husband and I cant complement it enough, we were on the 3rd floor, appartment was spacious and airy, had a good kitchen for self catering, only small thing is if fridge door opened at other side of the appliance as it was hard to get to with the breakfast bar, thats a minor detail I liked the complimentary bottle of water! Staff were lovely from reception to the housekeepers! Wouldve been great to have a proper double bed but I havnt stayed anywhere in the Canaries where you get one so its probably just a thing there! I can highly reccomend, we stayed 9 nights The gym is small but has whats needed the pool is lovely and the spa is great had lovely massage! Hoping to come back and bring family, not all in one appartment but maybe book a couple Highly reccommend!

I have just returned from staying in this hotel whilst on a couples holiday. My boyfriend and I arrived late in the evening and were disappointed by our superior suite room. The room was dirty and poorly maintained due to the following issues: 1. Bin hadn’t been emptied from previous guests 2. Toilet seat had dirty marks on it 3. Shower tray was filthy 4. Drain in shower was blocked causing the shower tray to fill up with water quickly 5. Shower caddy extremely rusty 6. Bathroom ceiling had marks that looked like mould or cobwebs 7. Towels were discoloured 8. Towels were old and didn’t absorb water well 9. Bed linen and pillows were stained 10. Skirting boards had a thick layer of dust on top of them 11. Floor hadn’t been cleaned properly 12. Kitchen dishes were dirty 13. Every wall had scuff marks and were discoloured with finger prints etc 14. Walls were damaged with holes 15. Curtains were extremely frayed We reported the above to reception and someone came to empty the bin and a cleaner was sent in the morning to re-clean the room. However, all they did was mop the floors so the next day we were advised by reception to show the cleaner our concerns. She tried to argue that the shower tray was not dirty and that it was just the colour of it. However, we had cleaned a small section of the shower tray beforehand to prove that it was definitely dirty (see picture). She then walked off before we could explain any other issues and she returned to clean the shower tray (not very well). By this stage, we had had enough so we bought cleaning products and cleaned it ourselves. Whilst waiting to speak to the receptionist, we overheard other guests complaining that there were cockroaches in their kitchen- thankfully we didn’t experience this! The swimming pool was also poorly cleaned. For example, there was a huge clump of hair laying on top of the drain beside the children’s pool. I counted that it was there for 4 days before being removed. There was also a green residue around the adult’s pool. Other areas such as the elevators were also grubby and covered in fingerprints. The floor of the elevator was also soaking wet one day which caused me to slip. The superior suite room that we paid extra for was advertised as having “long hours of sunshine from your sun lounger”. However, this description was false as our balcony was in the shade all day (see photos). This is false advertising and a waste of our money as we would have opted for a standard room had we known this. Multiple times throughout the week, we would go to reception and no members of staff would be there. On the Saturday, we also needed to wait until 1400 to receive pool towels. When we did receive them, there were holes in them. The spa opening hours (1100-1900) were also inconvenient as most people were out enjoying the sun during these times. We booked in to use the spa one day and I was unable to access it via the female changing room as door was locked and wouldn’t open by sw

Well what can one say, excellent hotel, nice rooms, consists of bathroom, separate bedroom and lounge, large balcony. Cooking facilities two ring halogen hob, kettle, toaster, cutlery. Plenty of storage space, English TV channels. The bed was one of the most comfortable beds I have slept in. Pillows were marshmallow lovely. Staff really nice, smiles from meeting them in the morning to getting home in the early hours. The pool was brilliant, lovely and clean but the best part of the hotel was the sunbathing deck on the roof, glorious views over the dunes and inwards to playa de ingles. The apartments are ideally located between the beach and shopping centres. The only thing I would say to make this place even better would be to supply an ironing board, hard to iron on the breakfast bar. Would I stay again definitely
