Hotel Boutique Castillo Rojo

One of the nicest hotels I’ve ever been at. The space is beautiful and nicely maintained, incredibly charming and unique. Barbara at the front desk took great care of us, giving amazing recommendations for restaurants and neighborhoods to explore. The hotel even coordinated a to-go breakfast box for us when we had to leave for a day trip before breakfast opened! Our room was lovely, and the neighborhood is incredibly fun and charming. Highly highly recommend!

The Castillo Rojo is cozy, friendly, relaxed, and perfectly located. I would absolutely stay there again (and again). My wife and I had a wonderful time during a winter visit. I'm a walker, so having Cerro San Cristóbal only two blocks away was a delight. I walked to the top multiple times for panoramic views, sometimes coming down on the funicular, which practically drops you at the hotel. Restaurants and bars abound in the Bellavista Neighborhood, and the museums and downtown squares are but a 20-minute walk, mostly through the Forestal Park. What's best, though, is the Castillo Rojo staff. At the front desk, in the second-floor lounge, and at breakfast one is met with nothing but smiles and helpful advice, to say nothing of food and wine. I got pointers on where to change dollars at a competitive rate, and also on sights around town. Daniel, Barbara, Diego, and Lautaro really stood out for their congeniality and competence. And the housekeeping crew is just as helpful and professional. Bravo, Castillo Rojo!

I spent a long birthday weekend at Castillo Rojo that was absolutely perfect. It started on Friday morning when I arrived after an overnight flight - around 9am. It was way too early to check-in, but they were very helpful and kind and were able to take all my bags and securely store them. They also offered me water and showed me to the main floor bathroom where I could freshen up and apply sunblock to explore the city a bit. When I returned around 3pm, the room was ready. They very kindly helped with my heavy bags up the stairs to the top floor, and ensured that I didn't need anything else before settling in to the room. The room was very nice - huge by my standards. I had the top floor, and I absolutely LOVED it. It was so quiet, and the bed was incredibly comfortable. I slept like a rock every single night I stayed here. The bathroom was also immaculate, with great water pressure in the shower and plenty of hot water. At 5pm is a wine happy hour, and it was a lot of fun! You get to try a red and white wine in the very lovely common living area on the second floor. There I got to meet and chat with fellow guests and talk about our travels. The space is so elegant I really loved just spending time and relaxing here when I wasn't in the room. They also made available coffee and hot water for tea at all hours. Breakfast is also provided every morning, and the spread is VERY good, plus scrambled eggs made to order. Service in the bistro where breakfast is served was stellar - the waiter was so kind and friendly, and we chatted quite a bit during my stay. On that note, EVERYONE who works here is extremely friendly and multi-lingual. I really enjoyed chatting with them about their experiences and time at the hotel. When the big birthday came, it started with a surprise birthday ice cream at breakfast by the waiters in the bistro. I was thrilled and it was a marvelous start to the day! THEN, they surprised me with a charcuterie board and bottle of sparkling wine in my room when I came in from a morning visiting the Torre Costanera. I was moved to tears, as it has been a very difficult year (I lost my fiance last year) and to have such caring staff who not only remembered my birthday, and did something special to commemorate it, was very special to me. I will never forget their kindness and empathy during my stay. The hotel is in a hip neighborhood in Santiago, and I never felt unsafe. Tons of restaurant and bar selections abound, with the closet restaurant right across the street if you wish for some quick take-out or an easy sit-down meal. They hotel also has an enclosed courtyard by the entrance where I enjoyed passing my evenings with my glass of sparking wine. My only regret is that I did not stay longer here. Overall, there is so much more I wish I could say to persuade those who are reading this to choose this hotel. Really nice room in such an interesting and characterful building which is also set in such a vibrant part of the City.. We arrived late in evening and were met by the reception manager who not only got us to our room but recommended and booked for us a great local restaurant. Excellent service.

Funky building full of character. Attentive, English speaking staff. Great location surrounded by 100s of restaurants and bars. The neighbourhood may be full of high fences, barred gates and even razor wire, but we never felt unsafe. My only minor complaint was the low shower pressure.

A gem of a hotel in Santiago! We loved the decor and interiors of the hotel, done in the style of the original house, early 20th century. Very friendly and accommodating staff, speaking different languages as well. Close to many eateries and Patio Bellavista, as well as a short walk to the San Cristobal funicular. We enjoyed the sunset wine hour to taste some good wine, and chat with other guests. Breakfast room was cosy with good choices. Special thank you to Lautaro at reception and Andrey at breakfast!

Fantastic hotel and friendly staff. Everything was great, including the breakfast - the best scrambled eggs! Wine hour was a really lovely addition to the stay, we met other guests and enjoyed the conversation. Highly recommend the hotel.

Spent a couple of very enjoyable days at Castillo Rojo. The hotel is well located in Bella Vista with plenty of bars and restaurants nearby and a five minute walk to the bus and gondolas for San Cristobel also other attractions were walkable. The hotel is unique in style very secure being fully walled and gated. Breakfast was excellent and had vegan options. The hotel also offers wine tasting at 5pm which offers a great chance to relax with fellow guests in the comfort of the lounge. We hope to return again in the future.

Excelent place to stay, close to everithing. The bed was the best to rest. Te staff is great people. I will come back my next visit to Santiago ................................................................................................
