Okay, Let's start with the positives - fantastic pools, lovely staff members from reception/entertainment/cleaners/spar - just everyone we met, was lovely. Lovely big, clean restaurant, rooms were lovely and clean, huge balconies, amazing views. Negatives - We went all inclusive - self serve bar, great but the soft drinks were warm and flat and a lot of the time there was no ice. Food was meh, it was very repetitive, hot food wasn't really kept warm and cold food not very cold (think warm cheese, cold hot dogs). Lifts have a mind of their own - sometimes will stop where you needed, most of the time it wouldn't, some days would take 20 mins to get to the top. Building work is ongoing but can't really hear it, the building people are all very polite. For those that use it, no air con - needed to be hired, although I believe it is being put into rooms now. I personally was okay with the ceiling fans. Entertainment - the shows were good, but couldn't really see them as they go just inside the restaurant , so if you're outside you can't see anything. Kids entertainment is a bit hit and miss - also starts pretty late due to it being in the restaurant with people eating. But the entertainment team are lovely and do work really hard to give you a good experience. There is only one bar so if you're at pool A,then it's a bit of a pain traipsing past two pools and upstairs to get a drink. Location - it is at the top of Puerto Rico, over 700 steps to walk down or down a steep hill to Amadores. It's a cheap taxi back up but it may hinder some people. Sunbeds - I know it's an issue for most holiday places but it is super frustrating. We had around 4 pools days in our two weeks and only one of those days we're we able to get a sunbed as the rest were reserved with towels nearly all day. They do need to more with watching it. One time we went to the pool, someone has reserved 7 sunbeds - then didn't arrive back until half 3 in the afternoon, took the towels off and went to their room. Super selfish and completely unnecessary. Bugs - there are blinking cockroaches and pigeons everywhere - it's not down to cleanliness, it's down to nature but if you don't like to see them, then it could be a put off. The hotel has just been taken over but Servatur so hopefully so improvements will be made. Would I return? Yes, would likely go self catering.
