The Glenrock Wellness Nature Resort

Glenrock is a beautiful resort that seems to blend in perfectly with the natural beauty of Belihuloya that surrounds it. Rooms are cosy and have all the necessary amenities, plus natural river sounds that make up the best music. Food was yummy and flavorful - especially the Sri Lankan fare. We tried out the many excursions offered, including the complimentary paganthuduwa trek which was breathtaking (it is a bit of a difficult trek especially the river crossing and not advisable for kids and elders who aren’t that fit but worth it). The highlight for us was the Samanala wewa kayaking - the lake is gorgeous, so still and peaceful, and the crew is friendly and helpful. We also did the Bakers Bend tour (we did this early to avoid the crowds) as well as the Three Pits on River Thinioya which were amazing! Hats off to Thusith for being a friendly and helpful guide to accompanied us everywhere and made us feel looked after! And cheers to the amazing Nilantha for his Top Gear-worthy driving which made us feel safe while feeling adventurous. Overall, an amazing hotel with good hospitality - great place for friends who like the outdoors and adrenaline rushes.

This resort is a hidden gem located by the Belihuloya River, surrounded by stunning natural beauty. It’s an ideal spot for bird enthusiasts, with a wide variety of bird species in the area. We had a fantastic stay, especially enjoying our room with its beautiful river view. The spacious two-story rooms were a highlight. What truly stood out was the staff—they were exceptionally helpful and friendly. We felt like we had discovered a tranquil retreat that combines rustic charm with serene surroundings. The cozy rooms, nestled in lush greenery, provided breathtaking views of the rolling hills. The resort’s activities were impressive, and we particularly enjoyed visiting Pahanthudawa Water Falls and exploring the picturesque rural village with its vibrant green landscape.

This is our 3rd stay and all three times it was 2 or more nights. This is one of the most peaceful and luxurious places in sri lanka and the river villa is the most recommended suite. Now it has access to the forest area in addition to the private access to river. Best in class cleanliness, service and meals. This time simialr to last times, we also had another ride to bakers bend with the hotel team

Amazing stay. Easily the best stay we have had in SL. Exquisite service from the entire staff - great hospitality, very responsive and extensive attention to detail. The room setting (Suite by the River) was just perfect with a large balcony to enjoy the energy-filled Belihul Oya. To relish the true luxury of nature, this is the place to be. Hoping to visit again.

Our stay at The Glenrock was nothing short of fantastic! The natural surroundings are absolutely stunning, and it's clear that great care has been taken to preserve the environment, with no harm done to the beautiful landscape. The hotel staff from Manager to the head Cheff, they were incredibly attentive and friendly, making the experience even more enjoyable. If you're looking for a place to relax and reconnect with nature while enjoying excellent service, I highly recommend The Glenrock.

If you want to avoid the crowds of Ella and yet get the same experience then Belihuloya is the place. And if you decide on Belihuloya, Glenrock is a great option. Very comfortable large rooms, set in the wild. The majority of the staff are from the village but well trained in the hospitality industry. There are plenty of activities in the area and includes religious, cultural and nature related activities. The Spa / massage overlooking the river is very restful and enjoyable. The river baths with the fish giving you a free therapy session is fun.
