Stella Hotel

A basic but spotlessly clean hotel in a fantastic position in the centre of Pefkos. The pool bar serves an excellent range of light meals which are great value and the drinks were very reasonable for a hotel. I found all of the staff to be kind, courteous and helpful. I loved not having a television and going back to Greek simplicity. Pefkos is a lovely resort. I would definitely come back.

Stayed at the Stellar hotel for the last two weeks of the season and had a really pleasant stay. Although the accommodation was a bit basic, it was very clean and there was everything we needed for a relaxed holiday. In addition, the rooms were serviced virtually every day by the very efficient maid. The pool area was also very clean, with plenty of sun beds and parasols available throughout the day. The pool-side snack bar was also very good, providing a decent range of freshly cooked breakfasts, salads and snacks at very reasonable prices. I must recommend the Stella breakfast and greek salad, which were both excellent. The hotel is located in an ideal spot, close to loads of great bars, restaurants and supermarkets, and a short walk to several nice beaches. Finally, I feel that I have to mention the bar man Kiriakos, who provided us with great service throughout our holiday, In addition to loads of entertaining stories and local knowledge. Thank you

Just finishing up a lovely week in Pefkos and the Stella apartments. Overall can't complain about the hotel, we were met at 2am by the receptionist and barman who were more than happy to help us, kept the bar open so we could have a few drinks after a long day travelling. Location is perfect! Central to everything; bars, restaurants, beach, shops, taxi rank and bus stops. Fantastic supermarket and bakery at the top of the hill! Apartments themselves are typically Greek, very basic but clean tidy, and everything you need. Basic utensils but toaster, fridge, kettle microwave, and hob. Air con is extra but in October we managed without it, safe is extra. Beds weren't the comfiest. Pool area was lovely, great bar serving pool snacks and beers very reasonably priced, pool was lovely and clean and very warm for October. Pefkos itself is lovely, some fantastic restaurants and bars, brilliant for families with most have play areas to entertain the kids whilst they waited for food or the adults relaxed. Word of warning ⚠️ we went last week of October and lots of the bars and restaurants shut for the season towards the end of our week or just after we were leaving and as I understand it this is quite normal. I would definitely return to the resort and the hotel.

We didn't use the air con you can manage without but some nights hot opening door just before bed helped but closed to sleep too many ants, etc. will come in. Don't recommend block 6 a trek from pool & reception.

These apartments have both good and bad points - hence the 3* GOOD: Stella apartments are in a central locations, near to shops restaurants and supermarkets, plus local bus and a short walk to the beach. The apartments are kept clean, but are a bit basic for self catering - take your own sharp knife , scissors bottle opener etc. Pool and surrounding area is good and kept clean. BAD: Block 1 (where we started out) adjoins the road and main entrance. Very noisy in the early hours with motobikes etc and bin lorry before 7am. The best blocks are 4 and 5 as these have sea views and are away from the road. When we arrived, at 2am. there was just an elderly lady on reception who takes your passport and gives you a room key and points you in the direction of your allocated apartment. There are no porters to help with luggage - and no lifts!! Some guests had mobility issues and had to drag their cases up three flights of stairs with no help. After four days, we were moved to a much better apartment. WiFi is useless and we had to pay extra for roaming. There are lots of 'extras'! Aircon. is needed but is an extra 60 Euros a week for each room (two units in each apartment). The safety deposit box was an extra 35 Euros and to keep the apartment until 6pm on the day of departure is another 30 Euros. As most flights are in the evening and there is no 'courtesy room' this is necessary, but very difficult to get - although the notice said you could book the room for longer three days before departure!. Stella is the only one who can make any decisions, and she doesn't sort out rooms until the day before! There is no TV in the apartments. The sunloungers by the pool have no mattress and are very hard. Bring your own towel as these are not provided. The weather was perfect and we had a good holiday, but it would have been greatly improved if minor things had been addressed. Our first fridge was missing a door to the freezer section and the second one had no shelf at all. There was insufficient crockery and cutlery and the kettle was a small plastic one which only boiled once. To boil it again, you had to empty it, swill it out with cold water and start again! So, overall a mixed experience, but try and get in blocks 4 or 5 and definately not in Block 1.

Brilliant stay , lovely welcoming staff , such a great place, beautiful views . If you want to be central this hotel is perfect. If you want 5* luxury look elsewhere , the service is 5*, it's greek hospitality at its finest. We have stayed a few times and always enjoyed our stay.

No nice staff, got a really disgusting room, number 303. So manta ants at the balcony and the roll. If you are going to Pefkos, I recommend Pefkos Island Resort.The pictures they advertise are absolutely not accurate about Stella

Stella is in a very central location within easy walking to shops/restaurants/bars, not far to public bus stops and very close to taxi rank. We were in the 300 block, on the top floor. Definitely not a good choice for anyone with walking difficulties or a weak heart! Up the hill, then four flights of stairs. Rooms a little dated, but clean, towels changed twice weekly, linens once a week, bins emptied daily except Sunday. We were self catering and didn’t eat in the hotel. WiFi was dire, we couldn’t get in the room at all and sporadic in communal areas. We paid for air-con, a total con as the unit was so old it took all night to cool the room. If you can brave the hill, the bakery just up the road was tremendous, cakes delicious. We liked Poseidon pool during the day, especially Cheeky Boys range of music. Had good meals in Artemis (out of accommodation, down the bank and turn right), and a lovely organic food shop/restaurant we found down nearly to the beach, just opposite the metina hotel. Disappointing meal in Nostalgia restaurant, we booked for my birthday and chose a table, but were seated elsewhere behind a pillar! Public bus to Lindos was great, however journey to Rhodes Town took 1hr 40 mins. We’d return to Pefkos but unlikely to stay here.

This will not be a long review, just bullet points. Wifi, shockingly slow, had to use own data. Rooms, very dated and tired. Beds were hard, had lots of ants. Shower, tiny with a curtain that just stuck to you. Aircon was a con, 10 euros per unit per night. Pool, was decent sized. Breakfast, don't bother, very poor range. Bar, reasonably priced. Customer service, very hit and miss, only decent service from barman, rest were poor. Location, excellent, very central. Flight home at 7.35pm, not allowed to have late checkout, so out of room at 11am, poor service as hotel was far from full. Never again, better places out there, if you do go, breakfast much better offers elsewhere.
