We stayed for 3 nights to celebrate New Year’s Eve and were very impressed with all aspects of our stay. Lovely room - great view of the bay! The staff went above and beyond to make our stay memorable. This was our 1st visit but will not be our last!

A high staff-to-guests ratio is, in my experience, always a good sign and the team here are very good. It’s a welcoming hotel full of period charm and even in the off-season it seemed full. There’s a busy public bar, a quieter lounge bar - mainly for guests - that adjoins the restaurant. Our deluxe sea view room ticked the box and was well-furnished and comfortable. One criticism here: in 4-star hotels (which this hotel is indicated as) bottled water tends to be replaced daily. 1st World problem but detail matters. There’s ample free parking at the rear but you can easily miss the turn. There’s also a car park directly opposite the hotel which is free in Winter. The hotel itself is at the very top of the very steep hill down to the old village (5 minutes down - longer back depending on your degree of fitness). We really liked the hotel and would stay again

We had such a lovely two night stay. The hotel has been beautifully refurbished into a welcoming, relaxing environment. The staff are excellent, very attentive but not too much. The food (dinner and breakfast) was so wonderfully cooked and with such a great menu choice. For me, I would have liked a chicken dish, but I managed perfectly well with Jonah the whale sized fish and chips! 😁 The room (12) we had, provided great side views of the sea. The beds were so comfortable and everywhere was so clean. Plenty of room for my friend and I with armchairs, bathrobes, lovely big towels and a great tea/coffee facility. Only 31 steps to the 2nd floor! I counted! But a beautiful chandelier and floor to look down on. Overall, a fantastic hotel and deserved on its star rating. Thank you for a lovely stay.

We stayed here for 2 nights with the brilliant deal that they do on the website. We had a 3 course meal the first night in the Osborne’s restaurant which was delicious. We had breakfast both mornings which was also very nice. The room itself is quite nice. However the bed was quite uncomfortable and the bathroom was a bit grubby. It is not enough to put us off staying again, but we’d probably upgrade to a larger bed if possible. It’s situated at the top of the hill of robin hoods bay so really central and there is a fish and chip shop within a minute away. The pub next door is also very nice and cosy. The staff in the hotel were lovely and really accommodating. The bar tender in the pub is quite fixated on looking after the locals instead of the guests. Overall a great hotel in a great location! Would stay again.

An established hotel in a stunning area. very convenient for buses to/from Whitby, Middlesborough and Scarborough and all points inbetween. Excellent food in Osbournes restaurant. Fabulous garden and terrace for out door dining during the Summer months with awesomme viewv over Robin Hoods Bay.

Fantastic overnight stay, arrived on a ‘curry night special’ plus live music with a brilliant solo guitarist, so benefited from that! Views are stunning with the coastline and hills,breakfast very nice all fresh local produce and staff were all very courteous and happy😁deff stay again

We have stayed at the Victoria on many occasions over the last ten years but left this week feeling disappointed. We were allocated room 14 and it was boiling the second we walked in the room. We reported the heat issue which was overwhelming. We discovered the hotel boiler is situated behind a cupboard. We called down to reception but it wasn’t resolved. We had to sleep all night with a noisy air cooler. The hotel obviously know it’s an issue so they really shouldn’t sell the room. The main control knob on the shower came off in my husband’s hand. Had it have fallen on his foot it would have broken it. We reported this at reception on departure. We were not asked if we had enjoyed our stay - I would have thought that would have been a basic reception requirement! The staff were friendly and we enjoyed the curry night/live music but feel disappointed by how tired we feel today.

Exceptional weekend! We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The staff are very friendly and the food is amazing! I would certainly recommend eating here. (Congratulations to the chefs). Also there is a choice of a cocktail bar or a pub for drinks. The outside area must be wonderful in the summertime. The rooms were comfortable and clean. Certainly a first class stay, book and you won’t be disappointed. Looking forward to returning. Also if you like walking, the cliff top walks are brilliant.
