Hotel Roermond dengan Gim

Hotel literally next to the trainstation. But no worries: in 2018 reopend and therefore no noice of the trains as long as you use the airco and keep the windows closed. It is in the center of Roermond. And one can park the car below the hotel (if available) at no costs. We had bikes with us (as many guests had) and could park them in a special bike area. This had an extra lock on the door, so only the guests with bikes could enter this area. Really lovely. Also good beds and clean room and a modern bathroom. The breakfast is good and a lot of choice; fruits, yoghurt, various breads, a toaster, cheese, meat and sweet stuff to go with your bread and eggs, good coffee and pancakes. Fresh juice which you could make yourself. I probably forget something.... but one thing I know for sure: everyone could take what he/she wanted. On the other side of the rather busy road one could take a drink in one of the cafés. The walking area to the shops started there too. To go to the Designer Outlet takes a moderate person 15-20 minutes. To the river Roer 15 minutes and several markets 5-10 minutes. The only lesser thing which I can think of is that the smokers did go the terras in front of the hotel. Because they were allowed to smoke there. For people like me the place becomes a no go area then. All 8 tables around the place where we sat, did smoke. Sometimes 3 or 4 people at one table. It bothered me a lot, because although I don’t smoke, I had to smoke. My advise to the management: make an area for the smokers and separate it from the non smokers. Or tell people to smoke somewhere else.

Afgelopen vrijdag 1 nacht verbleven. Zoals al eerder beschreven: slecht onderhouden badkamer, vieze vloer, ontzettend veel kalkaanslag op rail douchecabine (waarvan deur niet meer sluit) tegels welke kapot zijn en zelfs van de wand af vallen, en craquelé wastafel. Dat de inrichting van de badkamer uit de jaren 80 stamt is niet zo erg, maar zorg tenminste voor fatsoenlijk onderhoud. Overal haren en zelfs de randen van de wc-bril vertoonde sporen van de vorige gast. Het bed, en dan bedoel ik het matras, lag best. Ik heb bewust het hoeslaken maar niet opgetild. De ingebouwde wekkerradio uit 1975 deed het natuurlijk ook niet meer en de aangebouwde nachtkastjes plakten nogal aan de voor en bovenzijde. De kamer rook bij binnenkomst erg muf, maar gelukkig konden de ramen open. Doordat ik een kamer had aan de “ boszijde” was er weinig te klagen over het lawaai van de aangrenzende weg. Het ontbijt ‘s ochtends had weinig variëteit, maar er was voldoende en smaakte prima. Jus ‘d orange en multivitamine van Jan Linders smaakt ook best. De algehele indruk van het hotel in combinatie met personeel dat er zelf ook al niet veel zin in heeft maakt het verblijf er niet beter op. Al met al dus een oud en verloederd hotel waar heel veel aan moet worden verbeterd, maar als je na een nacht flink doorhalen in de stad een plek zoekt om je roes uit te slapen en daar niet te veel voor wilt betalen is dit hotel misschien nog het overwegen waard.

Prima hotel. De medewerker aan de balie kijkt uit naar zijn pensioen of dreigt burn out klachten te hebben. Hoe we tewoord werden gestaan was op het randje. We vertelden dat we te vroeg aangekomen waren en wilden vragen of we onze bagage ergens konden achterlaten. Daar kregen we de kans niet toe. Er werd direct door meneer gereageerd met : Jullie kunnen het om 15 u nog eens proberen.

This was the dirtiest hotel that I have stayed in for a long time. The room was spacious, not overlooking the water as booked. The carpet was covered in old coffee stains. The manageress advised me, when I complained, that the hotel was very short of funds and therefore had no money for cleaning carpets and other furnishings. ( this made me question whether she was a manageress as it’s not the sort of conversation to have with guests) we stayed as we had unpacked but consequently did not eat in the hotel as we were unsure of the cleanliness in the main building. The hotel presents itself as a luxury stay, however, the basics are not taken care of. Checking out receptionist was horrified that we had such a reception at the check in.

Das Hotel liegt in der Altstadt direkt an der Rur (Roer). Entsprechend der historischen Bausubstanz hat es keinen Aufzug und steile Treppen. Das Zimmer war sauber und mit bequemen Betten ausgestattet. Das Restaurant ist urgemütlich und sehr gut besucht. Frühstück und Abendessen waren in ausgezeichneter guter Qualität. Das Haus bietet ein gutes Preisleistungsverhältnis. Parkplätze gibt es in der Nähe in öffentlichen Parkhäusern. Gerne wieder 😊

Uitstekend hotel wat aan de buitenzijde wat zakelijk oogt maar op een perfecte plek ligt om een weekendje Roermond te doen. Goede parking met mogelijkheden om elektrisch te laden en uitstekende hospitality. Ruime kamers met ruime badkamers en goede bedden. Het ontbijt was uitgebreid en erg goed! Koffie van een hoogwaardige kwaliteit. Prijs-kwaliteitverhouding is uitstekend! We komen zeker terug!
