This accommodation was not as described. I thought I had booked the Amoroma Suites but on arrival, after payment, was told we were staying at via Flavia. On further inspection, this is what I booked, but it wasn’t clear and definitely the small print. Ok, my mistake. We were given a map with the via Flavia circled and sent on our way. It was about a 10 minute walk from Amoroma Suites (not the 2 we were told and we aren’t slow walkers). We walked up and down via Flavia, asked for directions in a restaurant. No one knew where the accommodation was. Eventually I got a text message and we were given a house number and codes to access the keys. Once we had this information we were able to get in the room fairly easily, except for being hassled by a man in the entrance trying to convince us to go to his hotel on a different floor of the building. The room came as a bit of a surprise, and not a good one. Positives: there were 2 hair dryers, towels and a fridge. Everything else: It was 28°C in the room and the air conditioning didn’t work. We reported this and nothing happened. There was no information about wifi, and several hours after asking for information we were given a password. There was no kettle or facilities for making hot drinks, or cups/glasses any drinks. In our 4 night stay, no rubbish was taken away. The only service we got was a new toilet roll each day. The bathroom deserves its own paragraph. It had the usual features: toilet, bidet, sink and shower. The toilet and bidet worked ok. However, the sink and shower were missing most of the water needed to operate them, to the point we said we were ‘going for a dribble’ instead of ‘going for a shower’! Hot water was pretty much out of the question, as was rinsing any soap used or toothpaste from your toothbrush. The whole place needed cleaning as well, as you might expect with no water coming through. Finally, the breakfast. I can’t tell you if it was good or bad. What I can tell you is that it isn’t in the dining room as stated on the website, it’s in a cafe 10 minutes walk from the accommodation. To sum up, find somewhere else to stay.
