Penthouse Suite Rome

My wife and stayed at Penthouse suites Rome from 20 to 24 October 2023. We researched to find accommodation in Rome that was clean and well located. The Penthouse Suites was in a great location and the toilet flushed and the TV worked, but those were the only was the only positives about this venue. I have never giving a negative review on a venue before, but this ranks as the worst venue that I have ever stayed in. The room was dirty and smelly and certainly does not merit a four star rating for this venue. The towels and bedding were old, threadbare and smelly even when clean. We bought air refresher to spray to alleviate the awful smell in the room. The pillows were yellow and smelly. The toilet seat was broken and after we complained, this was repaired by the hosts. But there were many other faults with this accommodation. The towel rail is broken and was leaned up against the wall disguising the fact that it falls over. The toilet roll holder is broken. There is no plug in the bath room sink, the shelf in the room next to the bed is broken. The extractor fan in the bathroom is covered in a cm of dust. Apart from the faults with the broken equipment, the room was not ready when we arrived at our appointed time of 15h00. The daily cleaning was superficial. By day four we had enough of this smelly and disgusting room and paid another 250 euros to get a good nights sleep at a CLEAN nearby hotel. This has sincerely been the worst accommodation we have ever stayed in and feel that we were duped into booking this place which is dressed up as a clean and attractive four star venue, which it certainly is not.

Location was great but the service non existent. You cannot leave your luggage on the property at all prior to check-in. You need to drop the luggage off at another hotel down the road and pay 7 Euro per bag then you have to collect them prior or after you check-in. TV only works if you use your mobile and your apps. Ants everywhere bed, tables. Wouldn't use the coffee machine calcium floating in the water as its looks like it's never been cleaned or replaced. Don't be fooled by the name Penthouse. That doesn't exist.
