Woodlakes Park by LIV Retreats

Had a two night stay in a small lodge with a hot tub. The lodge was cosy, clean & well equipped. Parking was fine with a space outside the lodge, plenty of facilities on site, two restaurants, a little shop in the reception area. The site itself is very scenic, with a couple of fishing lakes, & an “enchanted forest” with animals to admire including goats & alpacas. The only gripe was on arrival when we walked in our lodge there was a foul stench that can only be described as rotten cabbages, we think it was stagnant water that had somehow seeped under the flooring in the shower, it didn’t help that the radiator was on full as it was boiling. Once aired out it was okay though & it didn’t spoil our stay.

Beautiful place. We have been coming here for 5 years now. It feels like they have expanded too quickly and with that, have lost the little details. We stayed in different lodges over the years. This year we stayed in the new lux oasis. The walls are very thin. The door had come off the runners so we struggled to lock and unlock the lodge all week. We reported this when we arrived but did not hear anything. I then reported it again mid week and pointed out it was a fire issue as there was only one door. Maintance came to have a look and advised he would need to take the door fully off which would take hours to do and advised for us to lift the door when trying to lock and unlock the door. This is unacceptable due to this being a fire hazard. The park is a lovely place, but this year, it felt like the park is more focussed on profit and cramming more on the land, instead of keeping that personal touch. If you are looking for a place to just get away, then this is ideal but if you want somewhere as a main holiday, look elsewhere.

Lodge impeccable and very clean,we stayed in Sky 20 one of the newer ones, read description carefully as not all accommodation has ovens if you want self catering: could do with a few simple things like a dustpan and brush and some coat hooks. Only a two seater sofa and a chair so not well equipped for a family of 4 to relax in. An airer to dry clothes/towels on once been in the jacuzzi woukd be useful as there is no where to hang anything. Some jets in the jacuzzi tub didn’t work. Staff where were very friendly on arrival but not much information given about the site and facilities. Lots of building work and maintenance going on, we had loud petrol stunners start next to us at 9am. Just be aware. Beds and pillows are VERY soft. Not a great nights sleep all week. WiFi is very unstable. Not a problem if using your phone data BUT TV runs on WiFi and channels just kept crashing. Again not a problem if you don’t wnat to watch tv. Shower pressure and temperature unstable one min hot the next cold, not an enjoyable experience. On arrival looks great but in reality 4 days was expensive for what it is, lacks some basic amenities and touches. Has huge potential but just not there yet

Well what more can I say. What a beautiful place! Batteries recharged ready to go again.Lisa and Adam 🤣 Ant I’ll get it right this time 🕰️.the only thing that let it down was I didn’t take the rods 🎣 some proper big fish 🎣 above and beyond from all the team 👍👍👍

Have had a fantastic stay back in June 2023. The lodges are amazing as well as the food at both restaurants. I booked with Claudia which was so easy to do, she put my mind at ease and answered all questions I had. The lodges are well equipped but the best is the hot tubs thanks for a great stay.

Has the most relaxing weekend here at woodlakes, food was delicious from jacks restaurant! They deliver to your cabin or you can eat at the restaurant. Lodge was massive,with a hot tub and the Views from our cabin were beautiful what more could you want! Definitely recommend! We will be back 🥰

Just stayed at a lodge here that I found on Facebook, it was lovely. Very relaxing and lodge was fantastic with a lovely view of the lake. Only criticism was couldn’t get onto the WiFi and didn’t want to get picky and ask so had to use data - which couldn’t use inside lodge itself Would recommend park - lodge was clean and tidy apart from outdoor furniture which could do with replacing / cleaning We watched the Northern Lights in the hot tub which was a magical experience

Myself and my husband went for a four night break for my birthday and plan to return. We did have a couple of issues on arrival but they were dealt with stray away. The staff couldn't have been more friendly and helpful, couldn't give them enough praise. The site is lovely, we really relaxed. There are some lovely walks around the lakes and Enchanted Forest. The restaurants on site, especially Pan Asia serve excellent food. Unfortunately the Kitchen was closed. The site are building new lodges and are making other improvements so can not wait to see the improvements.

We stayed in a lakeside lodge. Steps up to lodge need to be disabled friendly. My parents struggled to get up the steps. No rail to grab hold of. Lodge needs some updating. Door was warped so breeze coming in top and bottom. Heater in lounge broken temporary heaters provided. Towel rail broken but was replaced on 2nd day. Dining Table collapsed, even though I was told it had been mended. Was mended within an hour. Hot tub needs privacy. Only metal rails. Apart from that a lovely week away for my mums 83rd birthday
