An excellent ski hotel with outstanding food. All the staff are friendly and nothing is too much to ask. The bedrooms and public rooms were spotlessly clean. All the previous reviews about the very high standard of food lived up to and went beyond my expectations. The hotel’s location is near perfect. It is possible for skiers of almost any ability to ski out and ski into the hotel.Albeit,we were lucky with the perfect snow conditions!

Le Sherpa is a lovely family owned hotel with very friendly staff. Well located just above the main road of bars and shops in the resort. Ski in is direct to the hotel. Ski out requires a short walk up a small hill which was not a problem. Good boot room. All very convenient. There is a really lovely sun terrace which is great for après ski. The bar was also very cozy with a good drinks menu. Food was excellent especially the dinner each night. Our room was comfortable. We paid extra for a panorama room which was worth it for the balcony and view where you could watch the sunset over the mountains. All in all we had a lovely week staying here and would be more than happy to return in future.

We had an amazing stay at Le Sherpa in January 2025. The reception staff were so helpful from the moment you walked in. The rooms were comfortable with a good shower and comfortable beds. Ski boot room had heated racks in each locker. Ski in ski out was ok - the ski back at night was fine, down a narrow but easy slope, but it is not really ski out, you could ski down through the town if there had been a lot of snow, or you would have to walk up to one of the main slopes (not far!). The food was amazing every night. The best bit about the hotel was the staff, especially Charlotte our waitress each night, she was always smiling and really attentive! We would definitely come back to Le Sherpa if returning to Val Thorens!

Just amazing, the bar area is lovely, rooms are fine but the food is out of this world. Five amazing courses every night, excellent local cuisine and great staff. Our waitress was Charlotte, very helpful and knowledgeable and nothing was too much trouble

I very rarely feel compelled to leave a review but, having just returned from my skiing holiday at Le Sherpa, I must compliment all the staff at Le Sherpa for a very wonderful stay. Everyone is so friendly, helpful and attentive. It is a small knit guest orientated team. Many of the staff have been with the hotel for several years and are committed to providing a first class service. Best hotel I have stayed in whilst skiing. Thank you so much, Maxime and all your team, for making us feel so special and welcome. I shall return.

What a fantastic family run hotel with a great location, good food and fabulous staff! We stayed over New Year and the location was excellent. Food very good and we loved the terrace for an afternoon drink and crepe after a days skiing. The bar was cosy in the evenings to enjoy too.

We spent Christmas as a couple at this charming hotel, and it was a holiday to remember! The hotel has a beautiful, rustic, and traditional feel—something hard to find in Val Thorens, which is often dominated by more modern, concrete buildings. The staff were exceptionally warm and welcoming, making us feel right at home from the moment we arrived. Our room was spacious, spotless, and very comfortable. The hotel’s lounge was especially inviting, with a cozy open fire, sheepskin throws, and a picture window where we could watch the snow fall. The food was outstanding. We were thoroughly impressed with the high standard of cuisine. Every night featured a five-course dinner with excellent choices and a variety of options, including a stunning dessert table of all homemade, mouth-watering treats. The location is ideal—just above the village center, with ski-in, ski-out access. A short walk uphill from the hotel was all it took to hit the slopes, and the boot room was great for storing gear. It’s also only a short stroll downhill to the village center. The spa was a nice touch, with a hot tub, sauna (both indoor and outdoor), and a steam room to unwind after a day on the slopes. Overall, we couldn’t have been happier with our stay. We highly recommend this hotel and would definitely return if we visit Val Thorens again.

Excellent week at Le Sherpa. Very good location. Ski out down to a choice of lifts. Ski back by turning left off Plein sud blue run. Short walk to the town. Friendly helpful and welcoming staff. Room was fine, comfortable, very clean and a reasonable size with good storage. Wi-fi was good. Food and service was very good, substantial breakfast and lovely dinner with plenty of choices. Great desserts and cheese selection. Outdoor terrace was a real sunspot, with outdoor sauna and ice cold tub for the brave. Crepes were available. Relaxation centre included jacuzzi, steam room and sauna. Boot room was good. No swimming pool. Relaxing bar area, with books & games. The midday checkout time was useful given our evening flight.

Fantastic hotel and amazing staff. Rooms are good with very comfortable beds. The room tended to get hot so had the doors open often. The lounge/bar is lovely with lots of seating, open fire and a big cupboard full of games. Spa area was nice although the outside sauna wasn’t very warm. More novelty than functional. Meals were all good. We have a vegetarian in our family which was not a problem as vegetarian option available every evening. There is a lot of cheese in the vegetarian meals though. Service was always friendly and prompt. Ski in/out was good although the little run off the main run back to the hotel was quite narrow and steep. A short walk from the hotel up to join the main blue piste where you can ski to various lifts. I’d definitely recommend this hotel and if I return to Val Thorens I would definitely stay here again.
