The Rising Sun

The room we stayed in was exceptionally comfortable, spacious, stylish and full of very thoughtful touches to help make the most of the area - the OS map, the SW Coast Path guidebook and the dry robes - and other touches to make the most of time spent in the room. The Rising Sun is in a perfect location and has a wonderfully unstuffy atmosphere. The breakfast and the staff were lovely too. I highly recommend and much look forward to returning ❤️

An absolute gem on the Roseland Peninsula! We stayed for three nights and were rather sad to leave. Everything from the lovely garden and airy conservatory to our cosy room looked so pretty. There were even a beach bag and two parkas available in the room for our Cornish adventures, so thoughtful! Breakfast was absolutely delicious, we'd have loved to try every single option. And great variety at dinner too. The staff were really kind and helpful. Will definitely come back!

Great refurbed rooms. Staff weee very helpful. I was in room 3 which was a great view, huge bathroom and very costly. The Sunday roast was excellent. Breakfast was lovely, with and excellent choice of food. Perfect location and great value when compared with the other hotels in st Mawes

A wonderful pub with a gorgeous room overlooking the Harbour. There were so many thoughtful little extras, and the bedding was deliciously comfortable. The bathroom was lovely with one of the best showers I have ever used and the whole stay was made extra special by the wonderful, friendly attentive staff.

What a perfectly lovely stay we had to celebrate my birthday . The room was really lovely with the best of everything. The room has its owns fridge stocked with a selection of drinks and a there were snacks which you could purchase by filling out an honesty card . A selection of high quality teas and a coffee machine complete with pods. Fresh milk in the fridge. The bedding was top quality, there were robes and even a dry robe if you fancied a dip in the sea. There were Elemis produces in the bathroom and big fluffy towels . The decoration and furniture was beautiful and we looked out over the harbour . There was a Dyson fan which was very much appreciated and even a trendy bag on the coat hooks for you to take shopping. The food was fantastic ! I can’t really put into words how good it was ! Staff were lovely and friendly. It is a pub so at times it was noisy but that’s to be expected and didn’t detract from our enjoyment. We will definitely be returning .

Spent a few days at the Rising Sun, St Mawes, very nice too. Just one criticism, on the starter menu was crab salad £14.75 we had one each, there was just enough crab to cover a 50p piece with added mayonnaise to make it look bigger and surrounded by leaves to fill the plate. I would advise that if you want fresh crab go to the deli shop opposite, very good. I did complain to Emily the Customer Experience Executive but she fobbed me off, so I thought I would share this with you.

A great place to stay whilst visits Mawes. Well appointed rooms with comfy bed and beautiful linens , soft fluffy towels . House keeping team we’re amazing and there’s a well stocked drinks fridge in the room with complimentary milk plus if you fancy them two Korev beers too . The room rate includes a lovely selection of breakfast snacks hot and cold and the ladies who served were super friendly and helpful and the food was delicious. We had dinner and Sunday lunch either friends whilst we were there and the choice and quality was amazing. All in all another great stay and would have been a 5/5 rather than the 4/5 if not for the two points below it took quite sometime to get served at the bar there always seemed to be a huge number of waitresses for the food but generally only one person serving drinks. Plus if you have a room above the pub outside area I would suggest not leaving the windows open at night as we we’re woken by the staff leaving to go home around 1130pm as they were talking quite loudly outside for several minutes enough to wake you up which was annoying

Great location in Saint Mawes. Close to small shops and the harbour. A great stop off point for those doing the South West coastal path. Friendly staff and efficient in all areas . Nice and spacious rooms. Great breakfast - had ‘Full Cornish’ and didn’t need lunch.

What a fantastic spot and the room in the block at the rear was very well appointed with lots of space, a really comfortable bed and plenty off complimenatary snacks and even beer were supplied. Had a lovely meal in the evening and breakfast was great. Only negative was the room was quite hot at night, summer I guess
