We were meant to stay for only 1 night but decided to extend our stay by 1 as we were impressed by many things: - the lovely, friendly, smiley employees at reception - it is extremely clean - breakfast was incredible (free range eggs, delicious cereal bread, nice juice and coffee, organic agava syrup, Bonne Maman hazelnut spread, yummy small croissants and pains au chocolat...) The only reason that I didn't give 5 stars is because late afternoon on our only full day there, we found out that there was a problem in the loo (constant flushing noise). That was a few hours after the 'pommeau de douche' fell on my partner's head while he was showering as the 'support' was broken. We had to move to another room. So for 1 hour, we packed then unpacked when all we wanted was to rest before dinner out. It would have been nice 'en compensation' to offer a reduction on our bill...

The shower was a nice size and was hot when we used it, pressure was a bit weak but nothing to complain about. ( we are used to a power shower at home). It’s got a great position in town, surrounded by shops and the front door is opposite the cathedral. Car parking is across the road at the public car park.. free of charge over night! Spaces are scarred during the day but no issue in the evening or very early morning. Breakfast was basic but done well, coffee, juice, pastries, breads, cheese, meat and eggs you can boil yourself. All clean and tidy and seating was never an issue. Self clearing is just polite. Good value for money.

Cet location est parfaite pour des vacances, juste prendre ses valises sans se surcharger, car l'appartement est très bien équipé. Madeline, on Reception, had already noted my email request for a ground floor room (easier with a dog) and was super-friendly and helpful. Our room was a decent size, clean and very comfortable. Parking was on-site and free, and only a short walk to several good eateries.

We arrived Sunday midday this Kyriad hotel is in a good place,easy to find off the A26,if you want to walk to the town centre it's about 30 minutes away.It is very careworn,we had room 122 and the doors had the laminate chipped off,the house keeping is not that great,the corridor leading to the room had splashes of what looked like bleach along the carpet and the stairwell was untidy.Its a shame because with a bit of an upgrade this could be a really comfortable stop over.This is the issue with this chain of hotels,we have stayed at several in France and you go from the excellent hotel in Troyes to the awful hotel in Laon,this seems to be in the middle and is really in need of a refit.
