La Siesta Salou Resort & Camping

A bit old fashioned, great beach, partners with two other resorts so you can go to any ...shuttle or boat... and buy a drink/food. The bill will be sent back to La Siesta Nearby restarants serve up delicious food... fishermen come here so the food better be good. Friendly staff. Order in food is really good. Minimal drinks to pruchase in the office. You get a water bottle and a fill station. Bagels and muffins if you get to the office before they are gone.

If I could this resort 0 stars I would avoid at all costs it was truly awful I would never go again! We encountered multiple problems with our accommodation. The first cabin we were allocated had major problems with black mold. This wasn’t treated mold but ‘active’ black mold which combined with air conditioning can cause very serious health problems. I pointed this out to staff on arrival but they could not move us that day, instead sending staff to try to clean the mold. I was really concerned about staying in the cabin that night as my son and wife suffer from asthma and are prone to respiratory issues. Whilst we were moved the next day, unfortunately my son contracted tonsillitis a few days later which we believe may well have been caused by the mold or faulty air conditioning in the first cabin (Caribe 24). Security arranged for a doctor to visit and prescribe antibiotics for the tonsilitus. We were moved on day 2 to a new cabin (Caribe 5) which appeared cleaner but there were still problems with the cabin. There were issues with the plumbing which needed to be fixed but of most concern was that on the first day when my daughter walked through the living room, a wooden board which should have been fixed to the side of the doorway fell on her, giving her a bruise near her eye. It seems as though the piece of wood had just been propped up against the door frame and left as a safety risk. The bungalows are poorly maintained cracked sinks moisture damage to doors rusty screws sticking out in the floor. The plants and trees surrounding the bungalows are not looked after if it’s slightly windy Ul get a scratching noise on the roof all night from the trees surrounding the bungalow. We also cancelled our evening meals half way through the holiday due to concerns that the food hadn’t been cooked properly. Two nights in a row we were served raw chicken by the chef which couldn’t be eaten. I attach a photo. The first night we raised the concern but nothing seems to have been done about it as the second night the chicken was served ‘bloody.’ I am sure you are aware that serving raw chicken in a serious health risk and luckily I checked the chicken before my daughter ate it. There’s lots of cats wondering around the site which people are using the bowls and plates from the bungalows to feed them on which is disgusting as there are no dishwashers so I just hope people are washing up properly. There’s sign everywhere saying no sunbed saving well this is a laugh as by 10am all the beds are taking with barely anyone on them. One morning we put ours towels down as everyone else was and popped to the on-site shop wen we came back 10 minutes later ours had been removed but others hadn’t can only assume it’s because we were English and most other people there are Spanish ‍♀️ I can’t fault Salou it’s a nice seaside resort I would not recommend this place to anyone it’s so expensive but very poor standards could stay in a nice hotel with higher standard

Pro's - location, heated pool Cons- kids entertainment doesn't start until 9.30pm ! Also all in spanish, kids club not aimed towards English speaking (I know we're in Spain but alot of English only speaking people go here) No English channels on TV Food in restaurant - pricey (kids menu 15.75

Absolutely beautiful place. Cabin was spotlessly clean, not the biggest but has everything you’d need and a well equipped kitchen. Pool area was lovely and handy having a small supermarket on site. Visited in June and no problem getting sun loungers unlike some other places I’ve seen where people queue in the mornings to get one! Lovely relaxed atmosphere and within walking distance of the beach and all the restaurants. Highly recommend!

La Siesta is a lovely campsite in the middle of Salou. The camp itself is small. There are four pool areas with some slides but if you have older kids they may want bigger slides. Great small area for young children. Never too much of an issue getting seating at the pool. There is a small shop on site but bigger shops within minutes walking distance outside of the site. You are within minutes walking distance to the beach and town. The entertainment team are fantastic and the shows were amazing. All in Spanish however so sometimes the kids missed out on some of it. The restaurant and buffet were far too expensive for the food. The kids menu was €15. The take away chicken is a great deal. We ate on site twice and would recommend going off site for food. The Roadhouse is good within minutes walk but you need to book in advance. Cambrills is 20 minutes drive away and loads of lovely restaurants. Portavenutra Caribe water park is great and ten mins away. Make sure to be there at opening time and prebook. We stayed in the Eden bungalow. It is clean but tight with the three rooms in it and the decking fits a table and chairs however if the clothes horse is on it too it becomes quite tight. I would love to go back to La Siesta however next time would book a bigger accommodation.

Nice site and friendly staff, nice restaurant and shop ..... BUT...... Absolutely nowhere to sit in any pool as every single bed taken by a towel, from 6sm to 6pm. Totally ridiculous. Leaving early as you pay for the luxury of a pool but can't use it.
