Hotel berhampiran Vier-Elemente-Brunnen, Salzburg

This is a really nice hotel just beside the train station and across the street from the main bus lines that take you everywhere in the City. The room was excellent with a free mini-bar and other nice amenities. It is definitely worth spending more for the higher floor as the view is spectacular. Lot's of mountains on one side and rolling countryside on the other. The staff were all good, check-in and check-out was easy and the breakfast in the morning was tasty with lots of variety. I would definitely stay there again.

The hotel is very conveniently located just by Salzburg station. Bus r 2 connects it to the airport. Good area with restaurants and shops very close. 15/20 minutes walk to all the main attractions. The hotel was nice and clean. The staff nice and helpful. The common areas of the hotel are modern and clean. There's a room for the luggage if you need to keep it before checking in or after checking out. The rooms were spacious and clean. So is the bathroom. The breakfast was very good, the breakfast room has a lovely view of the city. The only complain we have is that the room was very hot and the shower head bracket didn't work.

Location: I like that bus stops are very near the hotel to go to the popular spots in the city. Far enough from the crowd but not too far from necessities such as supermarket (Billa) and a very good restaurant (Fuxn). Room: I am completely supportive of hotels not supplying disposables. Be prepared to have your own toiletries! Only trouble I had was the curtains in my room 110 didn’t close all the way and the balcony was open to occupants of the neighboring rooms. Had to find lots of ways to keep my room covered! Complimentary bottle of water is per stay, not per day. I see people complaining about the lighting in the rooms, but I think it’s the theme of the hotel and I personally like the style. Cleanliness: very satisfied with the daily housekeeping standards!

Advertised as a 19th century building with rustic rooms and close to transportation links and only a short walk to Salzburg old town caught our eye. Our room, 31, on the third floor at the back of the property was basic and tired in need of modernisation. Still had the old worming toilet in the bathroom which I find unpleasant to say the least. Room was very warm even with the window open. A pedestal fan is supplied which helps and a fridge to keep those drinks cold. WiFi was ok but could only find 1 English speaking TV channel (Bloomberg) which was quite boring. Room serviced daily. Would have liked tea and coffee in the room but we knew this was the case when booking. Drinks and snacks are available at reception for a charge. Breakfast is standard continental buffet which was ample but nothing special. For tea drinkers there is a selection of different brews but no English Breakfast Tea. The closest I could find was Darjeeling. Was a little concerned about security as we were handed the key to our room from the 24 hr reception even though we had not met that person before and would not have been offended if I was asked for ID the first time. Baggage storage is the lobby which again isn’t secure and just watched over by reception. For those visiting Salzburg to see the sights, the hotel sells the Salzburg Card which we found very good value giving free entry to most places as well as free public transport which is so easy to understand and runs like clockwork. A pleasant stay although basic accommodation.

Arrived on 11.06.2023 at around 3 am. Sent an email before hand that we would be arriving at said time via train. When we got to the hostel, check in counter was not manned with sign to call reception phone. Tried calling phone number several times it did not connect, when it got through it went straight to voice mail. Been waiting for more than half an hour at 3 am, tired and exhausted from the journey when a group of drunk men entered the lobby and was gaining access to the bar which was also unmanned. They went behind the counter, opening the fridge with beers, it was only then when a very sleepy, exhausted and unapologetic staff appeared. Check in process took a long time since she even had to check if the room was ready, a room I already paid in advance for to reserve it since I knew we would be arriving after 6 pm - their cut off time for room reservation of free cancellation bookings.

Très belle chambre spacieuse et très pratique. Grande salle de bain. Pas de clim mais ventilateur. Calme. Sans accueil sur place donc faire le Check avant. Internet difficile sur place. À 30 mins de marche du centre ville. Possible de faire café et thé dans la chambre et plusieurs supermarchés à proximité. L’accès à l’immeuble est pas très chaleureux.

I booked this hotel online after lot of research and went by the brand of ”Best Western”, whose properties I have stayed around the world in the past. However, I would say the experience was much below expectations. Pros 1. Very close to Salzburg train station. It is about 2kms from the station 2. Bus stops are right opposite of hotel so ease of public transport 3. Walking distance to Mirabell Palace and Mozartplatz (main tourist attractions) 4. Several Indian restaurants within walking distance from hotel. 5. I was given a large room so it was good from family point of view 6. Room, bathroom was clean, nice bed, clean bed linen and towels etc 7. Staff at FD was efficient and solved most of our issues quickly. Cons 1. When we checked into room, we noticed that not even electric kettle, tea, coffee was provided in the room. It was provided only after brought into the notice of the front desk. 2. Intercom in the room was not working, so every time you have to go to the FD to inform 3. The room has a very small window at shoulder level, which was quite odd. 4. Salzberg was quite warm during our stay and AC was not working in the room. 5. Breakfast spread was small considering this was a 4 star hotel. 6. The bathroom has peculiar design & it was quite awkward for our Indian sensibilities, that shower enclosure was in glass open to view from all sides from the room. Such arrangement is not suitable if you have older children staying in the same room. We had our 10y old with us and we had to finish our shower before she would wake up. I would rather avoid this hotel in future!!

Booked this hotel for our ski holiday as only 60-90 mins from many ski resorts. Breakfast is amazing with lots of choice and every day had scrambled eggs and bacon plus many other options. Bus too opposite with number 4 bus running about every 20 mins until about 2230 hours. Cost for single is €3 euros. (Only take cash on buses). They also offer a day ticket for €4.50 but not sure if you have to buy this from a machine as didn’t offer on bus. You can buy a return ticket! We never had an issue with parking although the car park was often busy as the Sushi restaurant is very popular. There is also a Chinese buffet restaurant opposite called Huy Cook and Eat. ({€25). Food was good. They offered lots of raw fish and I wasn’t aware that they actually cook it for you! Rooms were cleaned every day and shower was awesome. I would have given this 5 stars but some of the reception staff weren’t very helpful. Eg. Not knowing any information about basic stuff like the buses!

Stayed overnight when driving through to Croatia. Lovely scenic location. Staff pleasant and polite on checking in and out. Room clean, however not keen on the modern look, as no where to hang clothes properly. Next to the hotel is a burger king which has put me off eating one again. Breakfast was 20 euros which in no way was it worth that. If we didn't have such a long drive ahead of us we would not have bothered.

I recently stayed at the newly renovated Schloss Fuschl, a hotel that boasts a truly breathtaking location near Salzburg. Nestled beside one of the most stunning lakes in the world, the natural beauty surrounding this property is nothing short of spectacular. The serene waters, framed by lush, rolling hills and vibrant greenery, create a picturesque backdrop that is almost otherworldly. The decor of the hotel itself is exceptional, seamlessly blending modern luxury with classic charm, making it a feast for the eyes at every turn. However, despite the unparalleled beauty of the setting and the impressive decor, the experience at Schloss Fuschl was unfortunately marred by significant issues with service. The hotel, having opened only a month ago, clearly needed a soft opening period to address operational inefficiencies before welcoming outside guests. The service was disorganized, with staff morale appearing to be notably low. This led to an experience that fell far short of the standards one would expect from a Rosewood property, especially given the exorbitant cost of staying here. Upon arrival, we made our way to the dock, hoping to enjoy the remaining daylight by the lake. Unfortunately, the dock was filthy, littered with dirty towels and dishes, and there was no staff member in sight to assist us. This lack of attention to detail was disappointing, particularly given that there were still several hours of daylight left to enjoy the lake. The unkempt state of such a central part of the hotel’s outdoor experience was unacceptable. Dinner was another disappointing experience. The restaurant was packed with outside guests, making it nearly impossible for us, as hotel guests, to find a proper table. We were forced to sit at the bar while waiting, and even after the restaurant cleared out, no one came to offer us a table. The staff seemed overwhelmed and unresponsive, consistently telling us they were too busy whenever we tried to place a drink or food order. Upon further observation, it was clear that the front management had set the servers up for failure, which is inexcusable. While I understand that new openings can come with challenges, the issues at Schloss Fuschl go beyond typical growing pains. The service problems are severe enough to detract from the overall experience, making it difficult to enjoy the hotel’s otherwise outstanding location and decor. The Rosewood brand is known for its impeccable service, but unfortunately, this property falls short of that reputation. For travelers considering a stay here, I would recommend canceling your reservation if you are still within your cancellation window. The hotel is not ready to be open, and the experience is not worth the high cost. The management needs to take immediate action to resolve these issues before this beautiful property’s re
