It was an over all comfy stay! The A/C works well. The beds were comfy and clean. We had a hot/cold shower. The staff were friendly and accommodating.

This small Hotel is okay, breakfast is not bad too. For the price and service that definitely worthy of the money you spend , can’t complain. Will return again.

Giving the breakfast a rating of 5/5. The staff were also accommodating. The place didn’t have much amenities though.

The room is very clean and cozy. The staffs were all accommodating and very helpful if we have questions or request. The breakfast they served were delicious and the ambiance is good also. Overall, we had a great stay and we would recommend it to our friends.

This is a nice hotel. The staff are very friendly and help if you need it. The included breakfast is good. It’s a good option if you want to save money by not staying in San Juan. I would recommend it. The main improvement would be access to free water. Otherwise no complaints.

The Balay is a very homely place built in traditional Philippines style, so it’s airy, cool and peaceful. Staff are lovely - very helpful. It’s basic but very good value for the money and will give a flavour of Philippines life. Easy access to many local attractions, such as the town plaza, the Halo-halo Iloko eatery. Tricycles will take you anywhere you want to go. Parking is available on the courtyard to the hotel. Free breakfast on the roof!

The place is very clean and homey. Plated breakfast being served tastes good and had enough serving. Staffs are very helpful, and works with integrity, especially when I left my ring in the room during check out. No fridge, television, and hair dryer. But there are electric kettle, mugs, glasses, bath towels, and toiletries provided. They also got strong WIFI connection. This is not a typical hotel set up where you could expect that someone would assist you at anytime. So manage your expectation especially when coming back late from outside, as you need to use the door bell for the caretaker to open the main gate for you. Not an issue for us at all since the caretaker is attentive enough to assist. There is a limited parking space inside the yard but I think there are available space nearby for rent. The only improvement to ask would be to install thicker curtains for better privacy and a more relaxed experience as it can block lighting and noise from the outside. I would definitely go back to this place. Thank you!

The staff are reall nice and helpful. The place is clean and location is also good. One thing is that they don't have inside slippers available. Thank you, our stay was a pleasant one. Till next time

My family and I stayed at Balay for 2 weeks. The first week, we stayed at the dormitory style room. It was clean and comfortable. It suits the families needs. The second week, we stayed at the standard room since some of our family members left. The rooms are spacious and comfortable. The place is very clean. It’s a bed and breakfast. There was no television in the bedroom but it’s not a big deal since we were only there to rest and sleep. We enjoyed the included breakfast every morning. The staff are so accommodating, professional and friendly. They were flexible with our needs, especially when we had to extend our stay on a day to day basis. There was always someone there to help us anytime of the day. I will never forget Ms Carol and Ed’s kindness. The night officer was also very accommodating when we came back to Balay late. We had a very positive experience and I would highly recommend it. My aunts and uncle also booked their stay at the Balay when my father passed away. Ed and Carol let us use the main area for family meeting after the funeral since we needed to gather before everyone left to their designated homes. They were very understanding of our needs and situation. That meant a lot to my family especially during this hard times.

Text: Really pleasant and good value. Spent a lovely two days at the Balay. Staff are courteous and helpful. It’s quite ‘olde worlds’ with nice Filipino touches and traditional styles, a welcome change from modern concrete boxes with windows you can’t open. Very quiet, no TV , which we didn’t miss at all. Easy access to some nearby attractions, including the Halo-halo Iloko resto, and good free parking out front. If you don’t appear for breakfast early, the food will be served cold apart from the rice, but it’s still good. The showers could do with an update - no adjustable bracket. But for the price, it’s very reasonable and a great choice in this city. Will definitely visit it again. Well done and thank you!

Stayed only 1 night but what a Lovely place to stay, best breakfast ever. Be sure we will be back again someday in the future. Only Missing a TV for follow up on the daily news. All in walking distance resto, mall and so on. Enjoyed really the top for with the cosy restaurant.

I had a pleasant stay at this hotel. The staff was friendly and helpful. The room was large with a very comfy bed and a good shower. There was very little street noise and the AC was nice and quiet. However, my room was fairly sparsely appointed - no TV, fridge or drapes (only sheers). Nevertheless, I would return if I am ever in San Fernando again.
