This property was adequate for our two-night stay. We have sadly marked average-to--good as there was room for improvement. Reception staff were friendly and helpful but some members of the breakfast dining staff let the hotel down. Unfortunately, they did not pay attention to detail ie; replenish cold buffet items and crockery as a matter of form. We had to ask. We were asked if we had a comfortable stay on checking out. We did. However, not wanting to be people who make a fuss, once back home it was confirmed that we had been downgraded to a standard double room instead of the Superior double room we had paid for. The "river view" was more of a "road view". The river cannot be seen as the room is on the ground floor. Room 2 is not a Superior Room with a River view. It is a double room without the view. We were clearly mis-sold this room by the hotel. We did not receive the room we had booked. Looking at previous comments it appears this has happened before. We can only assume that the superior double room with river view was allocated to other guests. We note the hotel does not respond to any comments. All I can say is question which room you have been allocated, especially if you have paid for an upgrade. We are disappointed, but we have learnt a lesson. Next time we will address issues straight away.
