I really wanted to give the Hotel more that 3 stars but just cant as there are many things wrong which would need to be fixed before I’d return. In general, we enjoyed our stay but were let down by the strange opening times of the Hotel, general cleanliness (I managed to stop myself from taking a picture of the stairs carpet) and food. I also felt very uncomfortable with watching one waiter (Yes One) run (And I mean Run, he had trainers on) from table to table serving a very busy dining room. Slow service due to under staffing. The chap was fantastic, but I couldn’t stop feeling guilty seeing him run around. We made sure we tipped him well but I doubt we sees all of it. Room We opted for one of the balcony rooms which was great as they have two separate areas and good space to make a cup of tea. It didn’t really get cleaned throughout stay, just bins were emptied. No issues with the room. Food Breakfast was appalling, just dumped on a table and you must get on with it. They did scrambled eggs once but mainly a cold buffet. I would have expected more from a Hotel. Dinner was nice in parts but as it’s a fixed menu we did have enough and went out for pizza. The portion sizes are huge so mostly ended up sharing. My main issue was the side salad served; it was that sweet it was uneatable (I cook and that’s not normal). They also don’t have simple meals on offer or a specials board. Curry wurst was the go-to as it was delicious. I will monitor feedback on here and if I see improvement I will return.
