My wife and I had an opportunity to take a holiday alone and chose Son Penya based on the location, architecture of the property and privacy afforded by the ‘private villas’ which make up about 50% of the 20 rooms at this beautifully presented property. Highs of our stay: -Size, quality of furnishings, privacy and views from our ‘private villa’ (room no. 17) -The immaculate public areas including the gardens -Friendly and professional staff both in the restaurant, reception and around the hotel in general. In particular, a big ‘thank you’ to Roberto, Sonia and Barbara for their attentiveness during our stay and willingness to listen to and help me as I learn to speak Spanish. -Quality and value of food at breakfast and dinner with a good choice on the menu as well as some ‘specials’ each evening. -The spa and pool. A wide range of treatments available and reasonably priced Could be better- -The consistency of the dishes at dinner. I had the same dish twice during our stay and the presentation/flavour was far better the first time I ate it. Overall, a highly relaxing and enjoyable stay in a beautifully rural and unspoilt part of Mallorca. I’d recommend having a car should you wish to explore beyond the immediate area and taking one of the larger ‘private villas’, with their own pools if you are seeking complete privacy. Highly recommended and we will definitely return.

Even if four stars are decorating this hotel, I settled my vision according to other mediterranen locations: ” Satisfying with just a few no-go experiences”. But here I got a proof that some hotel managers actually take **** serious in order to fulfill customer dreams. Staff is often (trained to be) sympathic, so also here - lovely people, discretly, but also always ready for a chat if guests are predistinated for. Clean envirovement: Should be expected, here 100% fulfilled. Food... mostly I am bored of it after max. one week... not here.. cuisine is always on point, coming in endless colours and going deep flavourwise - every day hapiness to have breakfast and dinner. (Desserts are over the top, undescribable.) Gym and sauna are also top level - actually my first hotel stay were I daily used these offers View from rooms: There are less rooms wirh non-seaside views, which totally makes sense - the view is incredible... Pool area is constructed so clever that it seems to melt with ocean and beach... palm trees are arranged perfectly to create a carribean feeling. The hotel is certainly top. The surrounding area is positive all over: If you don't love tourists traps and similiar shops with awfully averaged, cheap tourist thingies, you'd need to travel to Palma for a good shopping experience - but prices are very fair, snacks in the supermercados quite cheap... the beautiful, clean beach is a few meters away, water quality is top, nearly no stones to step on: I recommend to buy an umbrella (~20€) if you prefer staying on the beach as renting a spot with one can be expensive (19 to 36€). It was such a wonderful experience, two lovely weeks and the feeling back at home to miss this spot - to be repeated!

Great location for the Hotel, excellent reception and cleaning staff. Pool was a little small and saltwater which took quite a few people by surprise but wasn’t a problem, it also got dirty after a storm as the mud around the pool area washed into the pool but not the hotels fault. Also no sunbed wars here in the morning as pool doesn’t open till 10am but did notice people placing towels on the beds and going to the beach for a few hours before returning in the afternoon Rooms a tad dated and the kitchen area is dark, bathroom was a nice and big though in the 2 bedroom apartment. Tv in the room only had German channels. Not much in the way of entertainment unlike the sister hotel next door and needs something like a tv in the bar area during bad weather or the evening to keep people interested.
