ACONSEJO NO COMER EN LA CAFETERÍA. Pedimos filete con patatas y nos trajeron unos DESPOJOS DE MICROFILETE, que no se le da ni a los perros, encima estaba medio crudo y las patatas eran chips Matutano, o sea de bolsa, para mayor recochineo... UNA AUTENTICA TOMADURA DE PELO- Una lástima que un establecimiento desprestigie así el buen trabajo que hace la Fundación del Románico Palentino del Norte, que es gracias a ellos de lo que viven la mayor parte de estos negocios de la zona.

We live in an age of chains of hotels that are identical, and bland. Here is a beautifully and imaginatively restored convent, turned into a totally individual hotel that you will remember for decades. It was a pleasure and honour to stay here, with the best restaurant dinner of a week in Spain

Beautiful hotel, surrounded by peaceful views. The rooms are beautifully reimbursed, from the original monk cells, combining antiques with minimalistic decoration details. Natural construction elements, stone, steel, and wood are used to provide the place a mistic atmosphere. I particularly loved the way the lighting has been installed, creating a warming welcome. The hotel staff is very friendly and provides very helpful tips to do in the area!

A pathetic excuse for a four-star hotel, electric wires hanging unprotected from the wall, there is noise, TV does not work, shower has had its day, fridge is empty, no telephone in the room and what was most annoying… not interested and rude staff.The restaurant…. the less we say about it, the better…. I asked for cheese from the region and got four 'different' types that strangely enough all tasted the same. Oh yes, I also got a plate of ketchup…..and stale bread. My advice… avoid this place!

Stayed here twice and it is exceptional. The place is a beautifully restored convent, extremely characterful and oozing charm and history. Ive stayed in the wonderful old rooms, and the new "hay bale" rooms and both are great. The resturant is fantastic, serving wonderfully tasty food, and the wine cellar is exceptional and very reasonable. Wander around the tranquil gardens. It is family owned and consquently you get very good friendly service. If you want to stay off the beaten trak in a lovely part of Spain in a place thats full of character, this is the one!

This was an amazing place. Beautifully updated to accommodate guests with stunning rooms and a fantastic restaurant. We were only here one night on our way back to Santander, but would have loved to stay longer. The staff were all friendly and helpful and generally pleased to serve us.

En Santa María de Mave, un minúsculo pueblo del norte de Palencua, atesora un monasterio románico ha sido rehabilitado con detalle y junto a él el impactante diseño en hotel, llamado El Convento de Mave. Un lugar para disfrutar de la naturaleza y arte que nos regala esta zona. Desde este hotel se pueden visitar las Tuerces, esta urbe petrificada de una extinta raza de gigantes, y que nos marca la senda de los tesoros de alrededor, a tiro de piedra (nunca mejor dicho). En Olleros de Pisuerga encontraremos la catedral del arte rupestre, la iglesia de los Santos Justo y Pastor. Y en un radio de menos de 10 kilómetros cinco cumbres del llamado Románico Palentino (o el mejor del mundo): Santa María la Real (en Aguilar de Campoo), Santa Cecilia (en Valdespinoso de Aguilar), Santa Eufemia de Cozuelos (en Olmos de Ojeda), San Andrés de Arroyo (en Santibáñez de Ecla) y San Juan Bautista (en Moarves de Ojeda). Arpías, dragones, centauros, demonios, guerreros y ángeles justicieros habitan estos mundos románicos de roca caliza, no menos disparatados y hermosos que el de las Tuerces. Y el Hotel El Convento es el lugar ideal para el reposo del viajero

Es un hotel precioso. La maravillosa restauración cuida los detalles antiguos que lo hacen tan especial y los mezcla con otros modernos Tiene unos jardines alucinantes. El desayuno es variado y con productos de calidad; entre ellos bizcochos caseros. Y el restaurante tiene una carta no muy grande pero se complementa con platos fuera de carta que te ofrece el estupendo personal que tiene. Fue una estancia de varios días que espero repetir pronto.

Hotel moderno en un antiguo convento que ha tenido una rehabilitación muy cuidada, que lo convierte en un lugar único, en un sitio muy especial, junto a la iglesia de Santa María de Mave. Las habitaciones son amplias, limpias y originales, con toques de diseño que pueden penalizar la practicidad de algunos elementos, como el lavabo o la ubicación del inodoro. Preciosos y extensos jardines. Merece una mención su restaurante. La carta no es muy extensa pero todo está exquisito. La ensalada de manzana caramelizada, el revuelto de morcilla, la sopa castellana, incluso una receta del siglo XVIII de carrillera de ternera actualizada... A todo ello hay que sumar que tanto el personal del hotel como del restaurante es muy atento y con ganas de agradar. Un sitio para regresar
