Hotel berhampiran Barco Park di Santo Domingo

Muy grandes las habitaciones aunque les falta un poco de remodelacion ,buen desayuno buffet

This is a really great, quaint hotel. The daily breakfast is nourishing (a mix of Dominican and American fare: Mangu, salami, eggs, fruits, good coffee and fresh squeezed juice). The staff are really nice and the room (I got a King Colony) had great hot water, was very clean and had strong AC. You can also set up your own Netflix, Amazon Prime or Disney. Zola Colonial has a lot to offer with great restaurants and everything is walking distance. Uber is also familiar with the location. They also offer pick up from the airport but you have to email them (40 USD flat fee) and you pay the driver- he is super nice. I did Uber going back however since I got more familiar with transportation options. When I go back to Santo Domingo, I’ll go here. I felt safe walking around in any hour of the day (I acknowledge I am a man) but did not see any harassment or misogyny. There are bodegas around and a great sky bar up on roof top. I don’t currently drink alcohol but the menu looked amazing (I drank Agua con gas and juice). Please go.

My layover in SDQ was utilized for resting. I did enjoy my room. It was clean with all the amenities. I enjoyed sleeping long hours without any interruptions. The members of Staff were pleasant and service in the restaurant was quick. The hotel is in close proximity to the SDQ airport and was ideal for my layover. Taxis were available at the behest of the front desk.

The hotel is beautiful and this is our 6th visit but the reception staff are appalling. They have zero customer service tranining and are rude and nearly everyone we spoke to at the pool informed us they had the same issue. The problem is management have been aware of this for a long time but still ignore their customers and with my latest complaint I was informed that the Hotel Manager was angry with me for making the complaint which is sad. They also couldn't find our booking which cost a few hours of messing around with the management staff who are quite incompetent.

Buen hotel en el malecón

Servicio limpieza solo un dia de 4. No contestan telefono. El desayuno se demora mas de una hora. Una sola empleada. No comunican las inclemecias del tiempo al huesped. No hay television local para saber noticias drl tiempo. Un solo jabon, un solo shampoo.

The hotel is old but the location is good. The hotel room is clean, great bed and amenities. The hotel provides bottles of water in the room with no charge. The breakfast is complete, many international and local food options. The front desk personal is terrible, very unpolite employee attending the customers and I’m still without my invoice, because they told me that will be sent by email but never happened.

Stayed here as part of a medical service trip to the DR so we had 6 rooms for one night each at the beginning and end of the trip. We were welcomed with a warmth that is typical for the DR but there were a couple of problems on initial check in. Note that, like many hotels, not all rooms have two double beds and this was an issue for us, since our volunteers share rooms. This took some time and resulted in four of us being walked to another, nearby Hodelpa. Note that, even if you reserve a specific type of room, it pays to double check availability if this is important. There is a small, well managed parking lot at the hotel but the emphasis is on small. If you arrive by car, as we did, they will take your keys so they can move cars in and out of the tight space. There is a pay to park parking lot a couple of blocks away should the hotel spaces be full. The cost for this is nominal. Reception is airy and comfortable, with places for people to sit whilst other members check in. Once checked in, the rooms are accessed via a stairwell or a tiny elevator that reminds me of those one finds in Parisian hotels of a certain age. No room for more than 3 people, fewer with luggage. Also, the stairs seem to finish on the third floor despite there being rooms on the 4th! When you reach the top of the stairs on the third floor, you need to turn right, and double back on your self to find the stairs that lead to the 4th. Trust me, this is not intuitive! The rooms are functional but clean and comfortable. The bed in which I slept allowed for a great night's sleep and all was quiet which is a boon in SD which can be someone noisy especially in the evenings. I am not sure all rooms would be similarly quiet, but the street on which the hotel sits is relatively peaceful despite its proximity to the colonial center. Breakfast is provided and was excellent indeed. Plenty of choice and well staffed. There is a small patio area outside which is the pick of the available places to eat breakfast I reckon. Good choice of hot and cold foods were offered. Upon check out we were charged for eating a packet of ”Cheese-Its” from the room, which we had not consumed. One of the most annoying things in a hotel is having to argue you had NOT done something, especially taking things from the minibar, which I almost never do due to the high price of said items. I hate it when hotels make these phantom charges and, frankly, it happens about 30-40% of the time in hotels and necessitates an argument where one has to prove oneself innocent. Tiresome, even if it is only a few dollars each time. However, I would stay here again, it is a great base for the colonial center and very good value too.
