Not really a hotel, a pub with rooms! We stayed in room 6, for some reason it was incredibly hot although on first view the room was very pleasant. I tried to open the window but was unable to on the first night, managed to do so on the second night, but then there was a lot of road noise! There was a lot of condensation on the window that could not be opened and black mould as well! I mentioned this to the chambermaid who told me she cleaned the mould off every week? And also that because of it being a conservation area double glazing was not allowed. I would have thought that secondary double glazing and air conditioning would be a solution both to the condensation and road noise. In addition the floor of the shower wasn't draining properly. The staff were all very pleasant but I was expecting more for the price we paid!

We visited the Bell for afternoon tea to Celebrate a special birthday. The afternoon tea was delicious with very generous pots of tea.The Bell is so cosy and warmly decorated it’s a very pleasant hotel to spend an afternoon with friends. The afternoon tea was delicious the homemade sausage rolls are amazing.The service and welcome we received from all staff made this an enjoyable afternoon.Thank You so much can’t wait to visit again

It was a wonderful stay at the Bell Hotel. It was our first time at this hotel and we wanted to explore the coastal towns of Suffolk, the location was perfect. The room was excellent, very well decorated and furnished, the bed was very comfortable and the shower room was large and clean. The staff were always pleasant and helpful. We were able to chill out in the bar and enjoy an afternoon tea and read, there is also another lounge area in the next room. The food was excellent, we had wonderfully cooked breakfasts and evening meal, the Chef produces excellent creative food. We will be going back for another stay.

The staff looked after us so well. Receptionist was lovely and the lady at breakfast/ check out was lovely. Our room was lovely, so comfortable and relaxing Bar was cosy and inviting Breakfast was delicious Beautiful interior Can’t wait to return.

Sadly leaving this review after a really disappointing dinner out. Service was poor and borderline rude, food was worse - £10 for overcooked squid with a bit of mayo - cold vegetables, corked wine, steak so tough you couldn’t cut it, not that we were given a steak knife to use anyway, items missing from the £35 steak option and a mushroom sauce that was basically oil with mushrooms floating in it. Gutted, have been looking forward to coming here for ages. What a disappointment.

I had an exceptional stay at this hotel! The staff was incredibly friendly and welcoming, making check-in smooth and hassle-free. The room was spotless, with a comfortable bed and all the amenities I needed for a relaxing stay. I was particularly impressed by the attention to detail in the decor, creating a cozy and inviting atmosphere. The location was perfect, close to local attractions yet peaceful enough for a restful night’s sleep. Breakfast offered a variety of delicious options, and the overall service was outstanding. I’ll definitely be returning next time I’m in town! Highly recommend!

Superb dinner at the Bell for my Dad's birthday. The best gnocchi I have ever had, absolutely delicious flavours. Generous sized fish and chips for Dad. The food here is amazing! Such warm and welcoming staff, who went above and beyond to help my Dad feel special on his birthday. A really lovely place to come to. Thank you so much to all of the team - I can't emphasise enough how great the service was here - lovely lovely people.

My wife & I stayed for 1 night at The Bell on 6th November. This is a traditional Coaching Inn in the heart of Saxmundham which has been upgraded to very high standards whilst maintaining is original historic character & clientele. It was good to speak to the friendly local regulars in the cosy bar. Dinner was excellent & the staff helpful & attentive. Very comfortable room with great bed A first class breakfast on Thursday morning concluded an altogether very pleasant visit. We shall return!

We stayed at The Bell for two nights and had dinner in the hotel's restaurant on one night. The food both for dinner and two breakfasts was of a high standard. What really sets this family-owned hotel apart however is the friendliness of the staff. Thank you to Callum and Joana for the genuine warmth of your welcome and attention during our stay.
