Freina Mountain Lifestyle Hotel

Went to Dolomites for a family wedding and stayed at Hotel Freina. What a wonderful experience! Owned by the Kostner family who provided amazing care and attention to us; always with a smile. Rooms were spacious, clean, and modern (heated bathroom floor is a huge PLUS). Restaurant below offers a large breakfast buffet (cappuccino always ready) and dinner if you don't want to venture out. We would definitely go back the next time we visit the Dolomites.

We found this wonderful family-own/run hotel through one of the online booking sites. I did go through some guests reviews and was impressed on various aspects of the hotel, room, restaurant, amenities and more importantly services. Sure enough, our 3-night stay did not disappoint. The hotel is located in a quiet but convenient spot. Our room has a balcony facing one big lift in town. The room is spacious and tastefully decorated. We really liked the decor. Hotel restaurant is a nice one rated high among all restaurants in town, a big and busy group of towns. The food was well prepared and delicious with great atmosphere and nice views (if seated right). Good breakfast and garage parking were included in booking. Well care like sauna and steam room was a big plus after day hikes. Using sauna/steam room in Gardena area is traditionally no bathing suits thus majority of people were using towels to wrap around with a handful people were "free-spirited", LOL. The service provided by the hotel was excellent during our stay (though we usually don't need daily room service during hotel stays). The hotel is managed and run by family members of the owner and everyone of the family worked hard providing excellent services, information, and recommendations, while trained new employees nicely. We enjoyed some conversations with the family members and we're very impressed on their attention to details, understanding of guests and industry, work ethics, friendliness and sense of humor. It was an enjoyable stay and would recommend it highly.

WOW!!!! This is the best hotel we have ever stayed at!!! If I could give it a 6 I would. Absolutely Unbelievable!! This place will not disappoint! Susan and family went above and beyond. I am not sure they ever slept? They were working nonstop to make their hotel the best and they did just that. Rooms, Food, Drinks, and Service are superior. We will be back.

Family-run hotel; very helpful staff with personal service. We had a spotless, comfortable room with a balcony and great view. Convenient location; just a two-minute walk to the bus stop and gondola. GREAT food; order the Bottoncini pasta for dinner!

My husband and I stayed with a friend at hotel Freina in June. We had a wonderful stay! We ate most of our meals at the hotel as the food was excellent. The service was great. The room was spacious and clean with a gorgeous view of the mountains. Susanna and her family offered great options for daily itineraries . Including a ride on the coffin lift Forcella Sassolungo. A MUST!! Selva Gardena is beautiful and hotel Freina is a great place to stay to experience the magic of the Dolomites!

This was our second stay at Freina and it continues to get better and better. The family Kostner are really friendly and welcoming, nothing is too much trouble. Our room was spacious, comfortable and immaculately clean. The restaurant is a real treat for dinner and the breakfast is the best hotel breakfast we have ever had. We were on a walking holiday and loved to return each day to rest on the balcony overlooking the meadow. We could not fault our stay.

This was one of the greatest hotel stays of my entire life. The family staff and especially the amazing hostess were so friendly, accessible and helpful. They went above and beyond offering so many local tips that vastly increased the enjoyment of our stay. I truly feel this is a hidden gem. A family-run establishment that makes you feel like family:)

Sometimes you get lucky in life, and this was one of those times. This boutique inn exceeded our expectations! Run efficiently and warmly by a wonderful family, from the moment we entered we felt well taken care of. Our room was well equipped and spacious. Our balcony looked over the ski runs. The beds were comfortable and every day it was made sparkling clean as we skied. Right down to the ski locker room equipped with a wall of boot dryers all details thought out. Afternoon tea awaited us every late afternoon. The food was incredible and we enjoyed having “our table” waiting for us for the yummy breakfasts and gourmet dinners. The Kostner family was there to answer every question we had from directions to ski areas to generalities about the area. The clientele we met have become friends! We came as guests, left as family. This is a gem in the beautiful area of Selva!
