L'Escape Hotel

Hotel was beautiful and everything was intricately designed and pictures don’t do it justice. They gave us complimentary chocolate for our anniversary! Bed and pillows were soft. Toilet was huge and I enjoyed the bathtub. Gym was clean and had a nice design and equipment efficient and sufficient. 10 min walk to Myeongdong (we also took the subway one stop) and 15-20 min walk to namsan cable car via glass elevator. The traditional market was also right behind the hotel and mall next door. Very good shopping location. Hotel was near the subway station, and the nearest exit was connected to the shinsagae mall food basement (I think it was exit 7). The subway elevator to this exit was not obvious so may not be easy for guests with big luggage (there was one flight of steps coming up from the platform). From the station exit instead of walking up the slope to the hotel you can take an escalator inside the police station across the road/ pedstrian crossing (but closes at 10pm). Take lift up to the check in reception.

My fair review: I selected this hotel for the bathtub, room size and good location near Myeongdong (walking distance of one train station away). When I arrived, I was impressed by the pleasant hotel scent, the decor of its public areas and my room with the huge tub. And Natura Bisse toiletries too. But over my nine-day stay, I noticed my floor was not vacuumed (my leftover dinner crumbs were.. left over for two nights, accidental litter on the floor were also not picked up) and twice I found hair in the bathtub. One time was even after a request to the hotel to deep clean my room. This is the only hotel that I requested to change my bed sheets four times in 8 nights, cos I was itching and one day woke with an insect bite on my arm. The couch made my butt itch too, until I got them to vaccum mom it. But their service recovery was pleasant enough, and I got sincere apologies from the managers. Would I stay there again? Yes but in future I will make sure I give feedback promptly on their cleanliness instead of keeping it till the last few days of my tour!

overall great pretty place, we enjoyed our stay. service i would expect more ))) they charge for ice, they only "allow" 1 capsule of coffee per day (the coffee capsule they use is CHEAP!), etc etc similar things. they insisted we pay for breakfast first before we go in, which is strange for such hotel, normally we are let in and then we receive bill while we eat or at the end. and... I was super annoyed that they did nothing to acknowledge the fact that we arrived in their hotel to celebrate 2 huge milestones in our life - 50th birthday & 15th wedding anniversary _ i wrote, i reminded when we arrived - but nothing, straight distant face, and next 3 days nothing. annoying as its not a normal thing, especially in such hotels, so quite unusual. another thing - if anyone have allergy to dust &/or dust mites - this hotel might be not too suitable, my husband was sneezing all the time. otherwise its a pretty cosy hotel, quiet at night yet its perfect location, very near busy shopping & night market street. we would recommend this hotel, but we do hope that hotel can reconsider their customer service to be more attentive and less petty.
