Perfect for a short getaway in mundane Trouville-sur-Mer. Super-friendly staff, always helpful with suggestions on sightseeing, restaurants, etc. Nicely decorated rooms and common area. Rainfall shower, comfy king bed, downlighting. Good vibes from the moment you walk through the door

PPengguna TetamuI visited this hotel and spa back in 2019. The experience was then decent. With the re-opening of the Spa in late 2023, I decided to give it another go. What a huge mistake. I did book a room with a ”cycle équilibre” program of treatments and was really looking forward to my experience, especially in the light of the fact that the package (hotel and spa treatments) costed about €2,500. Arriving at the hotel was a non-experience. There was only one person at the check-in desk doing her best on a busy day. Being a Platinum member of Accor, I had no expectation of anything (Accor All probably being the worst loyalty hotel programme around). But it was odd not to have any polite mention of acknowledgment of membership along those lines : ”Thank you for being a loyal member. We are aware that as a Platinum member, you may be entitled for a room upgrade. However, at this time, we are unable to offer you one and we are sorry about it but we do value your custom”. Only ”have you been here before”, ”yes”, ”here is your key”. And what about the spa treatment programme : ”go and see the spa about it”... The room was decent but extraordinarily small. The open bathroom in the middle of the room is really not a great experience. The meals were very nice but service was extraordinarily slow (and the waiters would readily acknowledge it). However, it was the spa experience that was the worst : the ”programme” was nothing more than a mix and match of treatments offered with absolutely zero consistency. My first treatment was a computer assessment of general heatlth. The therapist had no knowledge of how it all worked and the session ended up being her reading out what the computer was generating and offering silly advice (to sleep better, go to bed at consistent hours... really?). Some treatments were unavailable (you would be notified while waiting for the treatment outside the room - ”oh sorry, the computer does not work” or ”cryo is unavailable”. As for the wet treatments, where to start ??? the therapists were obvisouly very yound and untrained (or recently trained). Most of them had absolutely no idea what they were doing. The whole experience turned out to be such a stressful experience and I ended up cancelling (without a refund) my last treatment as I got fed up with the really low level of professionnal standards of this spa. This gives the impression that the spa was upgraded merely to generate more profit but not to improve customers' experience. I will never return. I am not surprised. Accor Thalasso locations have been a real mess in recent years Dinard location left the Accor brand, Novotel Le Touquet is an unpleasant factory. Other Thalasso are getting old and not paying enough attention to customers' satisfaction. The only Accor location still worth a visit is Quiberon.

We first stayed at the Hotel Mercure in Trouville-Sur-Mer as part of a package deal through Brittany Ferries in August 2022, and our experience was so positive that we decided to return for 4 nights arriving Monday 7th August 2023, again through a Brittany Ferries package: We were not disappointed with our decision to return! As before, the hotel was clean, and our room was cleaned daily, and the location of the hotel is superb, just 2-5 minutes walk to the beach, and within minutes (or seconds!) walk of lots of local restaurants. A walk (or ferry) to Deauville, and the beach/boardwalk there is definitely recommended, but please see my previous review in August 2022 for more information on location, and on the hotel itself. However, the main thing which made us feel so happy to return was the staff at the hotel. All of the staff we encountered at Reception were both friendly and helpful. All spoke excellent English, although occasionally my wife would ask if she could practice her French, which was always agreed to, and then embarked on a conversation in French about various things, including our usual need for milk each day for our tea. (Du lait, s’il vous plaît, pour le thé. Nous sommes Anglais!). Specific thanks this year go to Lindsay for her help and patience, although, as stated above, all Reception staff are thanked! We again emphasise to the reader the advantage of booking through Brittany Ferries as this yields a very good saving compared to booking both the ferry and the hotel independently. Overall, again, a very enjoyable stay, and we hope to come back soon! Merci beaucoup!!

Hotel itself great location. directly on the marina and beach (max 500m steps) reception/arrival super friendly and super helpful. Rooms: small but neat. bathroom and toilet very small and dated. Since this is only for sleeping, it meets expectations. Breakfast: 🌟 🌟 🌟 🌟 1/2 continuously replenishing what is more than fresh. wide choice of everything a breakfast should be. staff: From the first to the last everyone is super friendly and always smiling. minus... the man from the cleaning crew kept watching videos on his phone while the woman was cleaning. not really professional. overall rating definitely worth repeating, and definitely recommended.
