Slane Farm Hostel, Cottages and Camping

We stayed here at the time of the worst possible weather. But, the accommodation is excellent. The two people and the dog were very happy in one of the cottages. It was very roomy and clean, with excellent facilities. The owners were very helpful, telling us where we could walk our dog around the farm. The only things that didn't seem right, was people parking outside of the cottages where you had picnic benches and where children could have been playing. Also, the donkey and goat need shelter. Which are both small things but did not ruin our time. I would recommend it to anyone who needs a good base and will return if staying in the area again.

We had an amazing stay, clean and cosy cottage and perfect for children with a little park and plenty of space for them to play. Staff were so helpful and friendly, which made the stay that more comfortable. Would recommend to anyone looking for a lovely staycation spot with all amenities within 5min drive, lovely little fairy walks close by with Tayto Park and other fun activities easy to get too from this spot. We actually booked for 4 nights but chose to stay on for an extra 3 which was extended by the lovely couple who run the hostel/cottages. We were lucky that the availability was there. Overall amazing getaway, comfortable and safe surroundings, and we will 100% be coming back for the perfect little holiday. Thanks to all at Slane Farm hostel/cottages.

We had an amazing stay at Slane farm cottages. The venue itself was so picturesque and the cottages so clean and comfortable. The staff could not have been any more accommodating answering questions before we arrived, allowing early check in, helping us organise transport! So friendly and helpful. Thank you and will definitely be back :)

Stayed when attending a wedding on New Year’s Eve in tankardstown house. The girl who met us was friendly and pleasant but that’s the only thing good about the place. Was very disappointed with self catering accommodation. Arrived home from wedding to find no kettle. Bedclothes were so old they needed thrown out. Valence sheets not ironed. Dirt and dust on skirting boards on the lamp shades. Stains on lamp shades. Carpet stained. Cups stained and cutlery looked grubby. Furniture was so old I really don’t know where you would find it. Really needs cleaned and updated. Definitely would not recommend.

Lovely campsite, good amenity. Will have giving it 5 stars but unfortunately had a family of campers from the North who started setting up their tents late on Friday evening at around 10pm, and their kids were so loud especially two of the girls who must have been around 9 - 12. We had to ask the parents many time to keep it quiet but to no available. The mother was as loud as her kids, no respect for fellow campers.

Stayed on the campsite. The location of this site is great for touring the Boyne valley and all it has to offer. We really only used it as a base. There is a campers kitchen, a small playground, and some animals that kids can meet. Within 20 to 30 minutes drive we visited, Drogheda, Battle of the Boyne Centre, NewGrange and Knowth, the Irish Military War Museum, Slane Castle, Slane Hill. The toilet and shower block are very rustic / basic. Bring your own soap, towel and handsanitiser.

Beautiful campsite at Slane Farm Hostel Cottages and Campsite , This was our first time camping with our children (aged 6 and 7), so we wanted somewhere safe and enjoyable for their first experience, They loved it. There is a Kitchen with all the amenities, showers and toilets, some cute and friendly animals, and a small playground and loads of space to run around and play :) there is also a hostel if you're not into camping which looks just as beautiful as you arrive in the front gates. This is the perfect place if you want somewhere peaceful and affordable. The only tiny critique I would give, is that while the playground is just fine, it could do with a little revamp. Would definitely come back again.
