Maybe due to weather issue, seems some mosquitoes and flies,, even inside room, the hotel is a bit old but kept not bad, service is perfect too, I like their velvet parking, just 1000yen/night and you may drop off at door. Amenities are adequate but I don't like the package of toothpaste which was a small bag and hard to open. Room was spacious; some shops around after crossing the bridge, if the convenience store can extend working hours, e.g 0200 ? I think it would be perfect as some of guests, like us, may arrive late at night.

The rooms are extremely comfortable, beautifully designed, and perfectly suited for a slow, restorative stay. The surrounding nature is stunning, and the resort feels well integrated into its landscape, which adds a lot to the overall experience. We stayed in December, and despite it being winter, the atmosphere was still incredibly pleasant and charming. The main pool does not operate in winter, but honestly, it doesn’t feel like a drawback at all—there is so much more to the property than the pool. Breakfast deserves a special mention: it is excellent, with high-quality ingredients and great variety. I highly recommend trying breakfast in different restaurants during your stay, as each offers a slightly different experience. Overall, Halekulani Okinawa is a refined, serene, and beautifully executed resort. A perfect choice for those who value comfort, service, and atmosphere over loud entertainment—even in the winter season.

We had spent 4 nights at the hotel during the Golden Week which might have influenced the perception of service, but not dramatically. Among the advantages of the hotel are: nice spacious rooms (ours had a stunning sea view); generally good location with beautiful nature and access to the beaches where you could actually swim (not a given on the island) - at least until the tide goes too low; reasonably good food across the restaurants with rather friendly prices; stylish bar with quality drinks. Among the disadvantages are: very non-Japanese service (generally not very helpful, with low penetration of English among the staff) and lack of attention to detail that could make the resort actually very nice - again, not very typical case for Japan. A few pieces of advice to the management: 1. Bring the option of in-room breakfast. If a guest is sick and can’t go down, it’s impossible to order in-room breakfast on the day, while rooms service opens at 11:30. Same frustration goes to the coffee stall downstairs that doesn’t serve coffee during earlier breakfast hours 2. Consider equipping rooms with coffee machines and contemporary electronics - low costs to take, yet massive disadvantage for the 5* status for not having them 3. Pay more attention to room service: we spent 48h without shampoo and shower gel. Our glasses were washed occasionally. New bottles of drinking water arrived only once. 4. Fix the beach! The amenities there look like a poor community beach area, especially those shameful umbrellas. You have reasonable amenities at the pool - why not spreading them to the beach areas to make them feel more like a resort rather than public beaches that no one gave any care? 5. Gym and SPA amenities could use a bit of refreshment. I won’t mention SPA service itself which might be a result of poor luck with the specific technician 6. Empty mini bar equals lost revenue. You could easily cover the modifications above through adding more options for people to enjoy drinks at their balconies. What makes staying in Japan truly special - genuine care and attention to every detail - was completely missing over our stay at this Hyatt. In fact, we consistently had that feeling “this could actually be really nice” and then something would go terribly wrong with the awkward service. The hotel that looks like 5* on pictures leaves a 3* aftertaste at max. I am only writing this because I felt it didn’t have to - those are easy aspects to fix.

Nice hotel with nice restaurant just across the road. Good breakfast selection. Room is clean and spacious. Only downside side hotel charge a fee for usage of gym, indoor pool and Osen. Don't understand why gym should be chargr, never experience that during all my travel time.

Had the pleasure of staying at this property for four nights and was impressed by the overall quality of the experience. The hotel’s central location in Onna Okinawa is an advantage, providing easy access to shopping, dining, and cultural attractions. It serves as an excellent base for leisure travelers if you self drive. The room was spacious, modern, and thoughtfully equipped with a kitchen and washing machine, making it particularly convenient for longer stays. The layout was comfortable and functional, offering both relaxation and practicality. Breakfast was a highlight of the stay. The buffet spread was wide. The system of collecting a queue number before lining up was efficient and ensured a smooth dining experience. Evenings were made memorable by the hotel’s stunning sunset views. Watching the sky transition into vibrant hues from the property was a truly special experience that added to the charm of the stay. Overall, the hotel delivered on all fronts: location, comfort, amenities, and atmosphere. I would not hesitate to return and will certainly choose this property again on my next visit to Okinawa.

We stayed one night at Kafuu during a self drive holiday around Okinawa. The hotel rooms were very spacious, beautiful view overlooking the beach. Great service by the reception staff. More dinner options available with just a short drive out. Hotel breakfast was a Japanese style shabu buffet which required a little queuing to be seated. They also ferried us by buggy to where the restaurant was. Overall very pleasant stay.

Lovely hotel situated on its own beach. Friendly, helpful staff, large rooms, and two pools. It’s an older resort style hotel but well maintained and it has a cool atmosphere of its own. The beach is great- right by the hotel and it’s clean and safe, with plenty of room to swim. The gardens are attractive and provide lots of opportunities for photos of the lovely blue sea. You are a short walk to the main street, with its transport and eating and drinking options, and a few convenience stores. The pools are well kept and of good size. The indoor one is a good option for if it rains. I didn’t eat or drink in the bars or restaurants so can’t comment on those My only small complaint is they have an absurd system of charging hotel guests for sunbeds and parasols on the beach. For guests I’d expect these to be included. Not a huge problem in the grand scheme of things but something to be aware of if you plan to spend the day on the beach and need shelter from the sun. I’d stay here again- it’s a good find.

My girlfriend and I come from Hong Kong, and we’re honored to visit Okinawa for the first time, staying at your esteemed hotel for four days and three nights. All the staff at your hotel are exceptionally friendly and eager to assist. Whether at the front desk, restaurant, or cleaning team, every colleague is impeccably polite. Even though our Japanese is nonexistent, the staff patiently communicated with us in English, which truly touched our hearts. This time, I successfully proposed to my girlfriend right here at your hotel—sincere thanks to your hotel for creating such unforgettable and beautiful memories for us. Additionally, we absolutely loved playing with the parrot in the hotel’s basement; it’s so adorable and fun! We hope to see it again next time and have more joyful playtime with it. We look forward to the opportunity to return in the future and share more warm moments together.

Sheraton Okinawa Sunmarina Resort is one of the best hotel and experience I had. The location is great which easy access to both north and south part of the island. Facilities are the best, especially the water activities. We tried almost all marine activities and all are great. Staff are wonderful and really helpful. They helped me from the day I book the hotel, marine activities arrangements, room service, and front desk. We definitely will come back to meet the great staff and hotel.

I had a wonderful stay at this hotel. The staff was welcoming, professional, and always ready to help. The room was clean, comfortable, and very quiet, which made the stay especially relaxing. The location was also very convenient, close to restaurants, shops, and public transportation. I truly appreciated the excellent service and attention to detail throughout my stay. I would gladly recommend this hotel to anyone visiting the area and would be happy to stay here again in the future.
