Fabulous location, we were welcomed very warmly and the car was valet parked which was important as it was cold and raining. We were offered a warm drink and a comfortable place to sit whilst the formalities of check in were completed. We didn’t even have time to finish our drink before we were offered an upgraded room at no extra cost. WOW! The room was spacious, beautifully dressed and we were shown our own private balcony with the most spectacular view and this was also very nicely furnished. Everything was as we’d hoped and expected, because the hotel is EXPENSIVE, but we received exactly what we paid for. All the staff were attentive, friendly and helpful. Unfortunately the Pandemic has affected everyone and this hotel has had to do it’s best to survive these difficult times. The facilities in the Spa have been cut back to save costs but when we went to use it the place was warmed and treatments were enhanced to ensure we were more than satisfied. Luxury is expensive and we really enjoyed the pampering!!! All I can say is that this hotel and the treatment of their guests is everything you would expect for the price you have to pay. If wehad unlimited money we would stay only here when we visit Kashmir, which I do often to visit family. Even when we do visit family here we often visit the hotel, just to enjoy the gardens and admire the building and the ambience. Although we may not spend one penny on these visits the treatment by the staff has always been the same as we experienced on this visit. One word to describe this hotel FABULOUS.

The location was kind of convenient but then again, to what? The service was friendly, proficient and professional. I spilled a beverage on the bathroom floor so I used some tissues to wipe it off, lo and behold the tissues turned black. I was gobsmacked. Similar situation occurred in the living area with identical results. So needless to say hygiene is not of primary importance. Also when closed the toilet seat, the rear of the cover was stained with, I would imagine, urine. The Kitchen: The Chef and the maitre de saved the day as the dinner was of a very high standard, Congratulations guys, well done 👏 ✔️

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Mirage, situated in a serene part of Srinagar. The rooms were incredibly spacious and luxurious, making our accommodation very comfortable. The food was delightful, and the staff was exceptionally helpful. Mr. Nazeer provided excellent room service, ensuring our needs were met promptly. A special mention goes to Mr. Zulfi, who went above and beyond to ensure our tour was unforgettable. His dedication truly made our experience memorable.

We celebrated our babymoon at the Taj, and it exceeded all expectations, ranking among our most unforgettable travel experiences. The property's breathtaking location felt like a dream come true. Chef Surjeet's exceptional Jain cuisine was a highlight, serving us some of the finest dishes we've ever savored. The spa experience was sublime, and a room overlooking the stunning Dal Lake would have made it truly surreal. However, the real magic was created by the exceptional staff, particularly Fozia, Ummer, and Suhail, whose warmth, gratitude, and hospitality made our stay nothing short of enchanting. Their remarkable service elevated our experience, making it a truly unforgettable celebration

It’s a very quaint and peaceful houseboat with all the basic amenities well provided for . We stayed here for few days during the time which it both rained and was sunny and both the times it was a wonderful memorable experience with the views of the lake being exquisite in both the rainy and sunny days . The houseboat is located on the banks of the nageen lake and is accessible via a cute public garden . Best thing about this place is easy accessiblity to land as you don’t need to hire a boat everytime you want to commute as it’s right on the banks . If anyone wants a Shikara ride it can be arranged easily with the boat coming for pick up right at the main deck / balcony . The houseboat is big with spacious living room .. dining .. and 2 bedrooms with attached bath . A big family can comfortably stay here . We occupied one room which can easily accommodate 3 people and its windows directly opened on the lake which was really scenic. You can even sit out on the roof or the deck and enjoy the scenery . As far as the hospitality is concerned it is so warm and welcoming..everyone made us feel like family and took care of all our needs. And we had both breakfast and dinner at the boat and the dinners were impeccable with the taste still lingering on in memory. All in all it was a memorable stay with no complaints and I would personally thank all the hosts and owners for making our stay such a pleasure.

I saw reviews of Hotel Alamdar is good and decided to book room here and was in touch with Mr sahil, manager of the hotel. Last day he told that they have room available only in their deluxe property quoting 200 Rs higher for room, i agreed as i was travelling with family and i did not have time to search for another one. He never mentioned the name of the delux property, i thought it is same hotel alamdar. Mr sahil is manager for the other hotel also, hence i thought my review is aplicable for hotel alamdar as well. We stayed in the hotel ”Hidden Heaven” from 04th April 2023 to to 08th Apr 2023. Rooms were very small, you hardly have space to walk inside the room once you place your luggage. No almirah, or rack provided to keep your luggage, hence you don't have any other option other than placing them on the floor. Hot water is available only from evening 6 pm to 10 am in the morning .( No power back up available, if there is any power cut, you wont have single light in your room, while we stayed there was power cut from 8 am to 9 am everyday). I found out the reason for the same later. One day while returning from the days tour i saw hotel staff connecting illegal wire to steal electricity. hence they are doing power theft. I am attaching proof for the same. Once i saw this i did not want to be associated with such an organisation which is doing such an illegal activity. I searched for another hotel and found one which was providing me a better room with a carpet at almost half the price. I informed Mr sahil (Manager of the hotel) that i want to check out one day early giving him one day advance notice( at the time of check in i had told that i will be staying till 9th), he threatened me saying that if i dont pay the bill for 9 th also, he will not allow me to check out. I had to take the help of tourist police next day to check out. Pros. 1. Many restaurants are available nearby. 2. Located 1 km away from dalgate which is the major tourist centre Cons. 1. Very small room 2. No carpet provided hence difficult to during cold times 3. No space to keep luggage 4. Hotel staff doing power theft 5. Unfriendly hotel staff, they did not arrange even a cup of tea in the morning 6. Food waste kept at the entrance of the hotel which is an unpleasant sight in the morning. 7. Expensive for the service they provide, you will find much better hotels at this price at Srinagar 8. They did not remove garbage from the room properly. 9. Hot water heater is inefficient, we had to wait for 2 hrs to get hot water
