WelcomHeritage Gurkha Houseboats

The houseboats are accessible through 2 minute Sikara ride. As soon as we entered the houseboat (No. 2), Tanveer and his team welcomed us with big smile and explained us the rules and gave us the tour of the houseboat. The team is truly a gem. Top notch hospitality and homely feeling. Our dinner and breakfast (included in package) was made fresh after our order. In our entire Kashmir trip we didn’t had this amazing food as we had in houseboat. Houseboat is entirely made of wood and has 4 rooms (with attached washroom). 3 rooms in same floor and 1 room in above floor. A common living hall & dinning room are spacious. You can say it’s floating hotel with all amenities. Would surely recommend everyone to visit and experience hospitality by Tanveer & team.

This is the 2nd time in 2 years, that we were very lucky to stay in Itc heritage houseboat no 2. Mr Ashraf took excellent care of us,always smiling and ever willing to help us in every way. The food was excellent. An extremely comfortable, luxurious stay. Our shikara boats ***, Ali Mohd was a very friendly and cheerful person. Thank you, Mr Tanvir, Mr Ashraf and Noor for making us feel so special. We look forward to coming back for the third time.

What an amazing experience we had during our 2 day stay on boat #2. From the moment we arrived across the lake, taking a beautiful shikara (small boat) with a delightful guide, we were in our awe. The peaceful ride around the lake to our houseboat was fantastic! So peaceful, so quiet, so beautiful! Greeted by handsome Kashmiri gentleman whose only role was to make our visit be beyond perfect…and it was accomplished. The boat was exquisite but the best part they upgraded us to a suite with a private balcony! All of the hand-carved decor was so elegant. The manager was very nice but Riyaz and Asheif met our every need with smiles and enthusiasm. We really enjoyed many conversations with them too. We spent most of our time on our balcony, watching the world go by. This was an experience we will never forget and must do for everyone who visits Kashmir! Tank you!!

The most impressive part was the service and most amenable attitude of the staff. They were attentive and eager to help. The food was good too. Caretakers Reyaz and Ashraf are doing commendable job under the very able leadership of Tanveer.

The service was excellent & food taste was like home food, interior of boat was amazing & we would like to recommend our friends to visit your Boat in future . We will also come again. I home Ghurkha boats was the best boats among all. As i can see from out side as well

We had a very good staying experience with Welcome Heritage Gurkha house boat. The staff were very warm in their hospitality towards us. They took care of every small needs. We were accomodated in very comfortable rooms with good ambience. Special mention and appreciation to chachaji the senior most staff member in the boat but still was humble and attended to all our needs patiently and promptly. We were served with fresh and tasty breakfast everyday and we overall has a very comfortable and memorable stay. Would recommend this property for a comfortable stay.
