We stay here often and usually only have good things to say, but this trip was made into a nightmare by an extremely rude employee. He was just ghastly. Despite all our positive experiences here, we would never come back after this incident. I'd recommend the Wynyard hotel instead. They don't have a lift, so it's hard to get bags upstairs. But their toiletries are beautiful, and their employees don't leave you in tears, so best give the Occidental a miss from now on.

I loved my stay at this hostel. I met great people, the room was super comfy, very quiet. The kitchen + living room are super spacious, it's really nice here! Location is perfect, just a 15min walk from the botanical gardens + a view on the opera house. And a 2 min walk from Kingscross train station, from which you can take a train to most parts of the city + outside of Syndey. Lovely! If you stay in Sydney, I would 100% recommend London Plane Backpackers.

Das Alison Randwick liegt sehr zentral im Ortsteil Randwick gelegen und ist gut mit dem Bus oder der Straßenbahn erreichbar. Vom Innenstadt-Zentrum ist dies schon etwas weiter entfernt, dafür aber auch relativ nah an den Stränden. Das Personal am Empfang war sehr freundlich und hilfsbereit. Die Unterkunft war sehr sauber und modern ausgestattet. Es war für uns bisher das sauberste Gemeinschaftsbad, das wir je hatten. Die Zimmer sind etwas klein, aber sehr gemütlich. Es gibt eine Küche, die man jederzeit nutzen kann, sowie einen kostenlosen Parkplatz. Für uns war es eine sehr schöner und angenehmer Aufenthalt und wir können die Unterkunft nur weiterempfehlen.

DDiamondgirl12Great location within walking distance of good sights. Room was clean and showers and toilets were better than I imagined! Not a lover of sharing but it wasn’t bad at all. Was able to store my luggage there when I couldn’t check in yet, and after I checked out. Reception area was nice and welcoming. Would have been nice to have had towels provided or at least got the full amount back on return. Seems a little odd having to pay for them and give them back, if I’d have known I would have taken my own. Didn’t have time to eat in the cafe downstairs as there were so many other places in Sydney I wanted to visit but it looked good! The noise in the club below was very loud and did keep me awake until the early hours!

TTonkapiI reckon housekeeping didn’t make our room at all. The bed wasn’t look nice and neat but we were so tried so we take that room. We knew that the room has not been cleaned because the housekeeper has entered the room without knocking twice and asked us “how was the room.” This is on us to not change the room but they also didn’t done their job well. Lobby staff are great and helpful.

PPo KwongThis is my first time at the original backpacker. Answer my phone call when I was late check-in, the guy was very polite. Reception - very friendly and helpful show me around. Location - convenience at King Cross with 2 supermarkets, food shop, shopping centre. Friendly roommates with all women. Other backpackers are very respectful. No noise after midnight. I'll be back😊

PPengguna TetamuI was lucky enough to have my room ready in advance, before 2PM and since my flight arrived early in the morning, that was really nice ! Cathy was also a wonderful person in general, throughout my stay. The room is pretty big, with a sink and a fridge. 👌🏻 The room I had is next to the common area however people weren't too loud, especially in the evening despite it roughly being the dinner time so that was nice. The area is very chill, a few schools and houses around so not loud at night. It is, however, situated on the planes' route and they are pretty low in the sky since it gets close to the airport. But there aren't any at night (around midnight until 6AM I would say) and it's not every 5 minutes either. The sun set pretty early at that time of the year and to me, I felt like the neighborhood lacked lights for people to walk around but it wasn't much of a bother and not something the lodge can change, so just a heads-up to have a small light/enough battery on the phone to use when coming back from your day trip activities.

PPengguna TetamuCleanliness is very important to all the hotels and accommodation. because it can cause diseases. Dust comming from the fan and air-conditioning when it's running. I show cockroaches coming through the gaps on the walls. Specially the noise from the doors and air-conditioning need to be replaced. But although I realised this is how we all end it up if we after economy room. Management is very friendly but need more attention of cleanliness and maybe it's time to do renovations. Thanks

TTina FeThe hotel is situated close to olympic park. great if you opt to attend a concert and avoid the crowd. Our room is clean and has free toiletries, large bath towels, free tea and coffee, milk was at room temp ( not inside the fridge) we didn't bother using it as milk outside the fridge is concerning for us. The room ac is extremely noisy. It got a weird sound every 10-15 mins. The room given near the highway and above a late night pub, expect the noise, pls bring earplugs, and hair dryer, slippers and robe as we choose a shared bath for our room type. Not sure if there is a private suite. The shared bathroom only consists of 1 toilet and 1 bath for women. My partner also says it is the same layout for the men. Expect that there are some waiting during rush hours. Not sure how many rooms are shared for the amenities.
