The hotel was very modern and clean. In addition the evening meal was great value for money and the black pudding at breakfast was divine. Similarly the rooms were very pleasing and the beds were luxurious. Word of advice though, watch out for the breakfast lady with purple hair. A fair number of my travelling party experienced her lack of customer service, even our coach driver mentioned it, making a joke of it on the bus tannoy. Despite this, all other staff were great and the hotel is a great place. We'll worth a visit.

We had booked an upgraded room for an overnight birthday celebration. Check in was ok and the room itself was a good size and nice and warm on a cold day. Huge bed and appeared to have all we needed for a comfortabe stay. The bathroom was big with a huge bath which I was looking forward to having a long soak in. Nice white fluffy towels.We went out for a look around Stirling and on return I turned on the water to fill the bath. The water was warm but after 35mins the bath had about 3inches of water in due to the water trickling out. No way could anyone use the bath the water was cold before you could ever dream of having enough water to wash in, so a shower it was. We did have a good sleep and had booked breakfast for 9am. Breakfast wasn't great. The menu is inacurate so you don't actually get what it says. Infact it says pork sausage but no its a beef lorne which my husband got on his plate but I didn't, no black pudding so you get haggis.....honestly it reallywasnt great at all. I mentioned that some items were missing and my reply was... I will get you a sausage and we gave you haggis as there is no black pudding. Training need for waiting staff. This should have been mentioned when ordering and guest should be made aware of the pork/beef change. To be honest it was a bit a fawlty towers breakfast. On checkout no one even asked how our stay had been the young girl just took the key and said nothing. So no opportunity to highlight any issues. So hence my review. The location is good and the downstairs bar etc is nice but there are probably better hotel choices. Disappointed as I was really looking forward to our stay.

The stay was amazing and the staff were friendly. We arrived at the accommodation pretty late at night after the check in hours but the hotel staff were available and helped us with everything we needed.

Had dinner last night at the restaurant. The menu has been newly updated and I must say it is an improvement in every area. So many local places serve the same haggis, burgers and fish and chips. I am not saying we don't all fancy that once in a while but also its great to have something a bit different once in awhile. I had the duck and it was excellent, cooked to perfection. Give the new menu a try, you won't be disappointed.

Die Lage des Hotels ist super, das Hotel hat einen historischen Charme. Frühstück ok (typisch britisch) Deutlicher Minus-Punkt ist das Bad. Es riecht unangenehm modrig und alt, die Fliesen weisen Schimmelflecken auf. Zudem gab es nur ein Fenster, welches sich spaltweise öffnen ließ, so dass man nicht für frische Luft sorgen kann.

Absolutely immaculate inside and out, cannot fault the facilities for cleanliness. However on trying to book i was unable to book with 1 breakfast and it came uo 2 albeit i was on my own. The breakfast for the price was a massive let down, as it was my first trip i didn't really know what to expect but did expect something hot and plentiful. Nope - I am a vegetarian - so unless i anted a cereal or a banana... The choice was sausages, bacon eggs beans. \for me it was slce toast and cornflakes... glass juice. I'll take my own next time. Staff were extremely friendly and very helpful.

We very much enjoyed our stay at this hostel! We arrived in Stirling well before check-in, but were allowed to leave our bags until we checked-in. The desk staff were kind, helpful and friendly. We stayed in a double ensuite and found the room to be very clean. We did find the shower a bit intense - but the strong water pressure was nice after a long train ride and carrying a large backpack (mostly) uphill from the train station, though some water did splash onto the floor. The shared spaces were also clean and well organized. The hostel was very conveniently located and we were able to walk to Holyrood Abbey, Stirling Castle, Stirling Distillery and a Tesco Superstore. We would absolutely recommend this hostel to other travellers.
