Littleover Lodge Hotel

Called in on the off chance for Sunday lunch and found a great spot outside on a beautiful sunny day. Ordered off the main menu and all meals were fantastic with very generous portions - quality was superb and all meals were given a big thumbs up from our small group. If this is the standard every time, I will definitely be returning. Staff were also very efficient, friendly and polite.

The place looks like an American ******** movie where someone would be whacked or relocated for their safety then the place is ok. The rooms are fairly big with a comfy bed and big shower. At the price they charged the breakfast was weak and there was a man outside painting/drilling/ scrapping from 7ish in the morning without any warning which was a bit annoying…

Went for Sunday lunch carvery, asked about veggie option and was told either pie or just veg, I opted for the veg option and hubby had full carvery. Plenty of choice of veg, lovely roast potatoes and Yorkshire pudding. Given veggie gravy in a good sized gravy boat. Staff were very pleasant and service was good. When we came to pay we had been charged for 2 adult carveries, the waitress checked and said there was only one price! Given that we had paid for something we didn't get we requested a portion of meat to take away. We always get charged less for a no meat carvery no matter where we go and this took the edge off a lovely meal.

There were certainly some good things about this stay. I chose it because it was very near a relative I was visiting. The staff were friendly and helpful. The very standard continental breakfast was improved by warm croissants and good coffee. The bed was comfortable and spacious, nice clean linen, fluffy pillows. I only had a snack in the evening - spicy prawns and chorizo with ciabatta and that was very tasty. They have some good local ales on draught in the bar. It is a motel-style hotel with the rooms opening directly on to the car park so there was some noise in the evening and early morning with vehicle noise. The front of the bedroom was quite chilly because there was a bit of a draught under the door, though there is a nice warm radiator heater. I suspect the upstairs rooms will be a bit cosier and quieter. I would also suggest that it would be good to add a thick lined curtain on the window (and the door if possible) to reduce draughts and noise, and make the room cosier. At present there is just a venetian blind.

Came for the food after seeing some Facebook adverts. Upon first entry staff are very polite and welcoming. We found our seats and they wasted no time in serving us, menus and drinks. The decor is modern and nice, we came on a Wednesday it is lovely contemporary and quiet. Plenty of parking at the front. Wheel chair access. Bar indoor and outdoor seating. We ordered the 6oz burgers and swapped the french fries for chunky chips. The chunky chips are crispy for those crispy lovers. The burger definitely wins the day, thick and juicy. However I noticed due to the texture although uncertain I suspect frozen previously. However these were a delight, with the cheese and tomato dressing. Home made slaw also very nice. I recommend little lodge. Good value for money. Just off the A38

Stayed here for one night to be closer to Alton Towers than home. The food served in the restaurant was delicious and the drinks very reasonably priced. The suite that I booked was spacious, clean and comfortable. Comfy bed, hot shower, soft fluffy towels and own tea/coffee making facilities. Would stay here again and recommend to others.

Just been for a carvery at the restaurant, if there was a contest for carving the thinnest slice of beef then this place would win hands down. The prices have gone up and the portions have gone down. I am not going back again

The room we stayed in was a suite, downstairs seating area with sofa, desk and shower room and upstairs bedroom. Bed was comfortable and the upgrade in decor looks good. We had dinner and breakfast here. Portions were big and drinks were good. Staff were friendly and welcoming throughout our entire stay and Keith made sure breakfast was just right. Really enjoyable stay and would definitely return. Thank you

We chose Littleover Lodge as they describe themselves as family friendly dining, unfortunately they did not mention when booking that they have live load music most Saturdays and it is a place that then turns into a disco after the live music. If I wanted to be woken up at 2 in the morning my rowdy loud people leaving I would have stayed in the city centre above a night club. Very disappointed and will not be staying and recommending to anyone else. Littleover lodge is trying to be too many things and not succeeding at any. Most staff were nice, however a couple were quite rude and not welcoming at all, One was called Rueben, needs a lesson in customer service.
