Location is superb. Right in the heart of Shantang street. Taxi is not able to get to hotel. Walking is manageable. I had to call hotel when I couldn’t find the place. A hotel staff came out to bring us in. Just look for these signs (see my pics) & that’s where the hotel is located. Hotel is fairly rustic with open courtyard. Staff are friendly & always stood up to greet you. Lots & lots of restaurants, gift shops, boat ride in the area.

The toilet stink! Their shower and toilet are separated, and it feels like they don’t wash the toilet area or even mop the floor around the toilet bowl. There’s stains (likely previous guests’ urine splash) on the floor and strong urine smell! Other than the toilet, the hotel is generally ok. It’s a little hard to locate the hotel initially as it was quite hidden. But it is located along the Shantang street which is pretty nice to walk at night. Staffs were friendly too. Take note if you’re bringing large luggage to the hotel! Cars can’t drive in to shantang street and you will have to carry your luggage in. The bumpy ancient road is impossible to drag your luggage.

Good option if you want to stay in 园林酒店…It’s a bit troublesome as you will need to take luggage and walk out to the main junction to order car. However, they provided the service of helping customer to take luggage to the junction. Very nice experience and you will find peaceful scenery in this hotel.

Hotel is just located in the ancient town 七里山塘街. Very classic ancient design for the hotel, with bridge, fake mountain and fountain, pond in front of the hotel, calm and relax environment. Also, walkable distance to mrt station, and wet market.

Great location, located in one of the famous street (Shantang Street). The room is spacious and clean. Breakfast excellent.

Love the interior and exterior of the hotel. Location smacks right in the middle of Shantang street, convenient! Hotel staff provided great hospitality too.

Beautiful place to stay, located on the famous shantangjie 山塘街. Do keep an eye out for the hotel as its located within a weaving house so you might miss it easily. Else, service and cleanliness are all up to standard.

Central of Suzhou but my shower area have so much clogging up in the end I have a tiny lake in my room.

Location was great! They had breakfast which is good. The hotel is near the attractions which is very convenient but it would be difficult if you have a luggage where you need to walked past the crowd.

The hotel is quite new (as of 2024) and has been kept very clean. The room design is modern chinese and is stylish, we like it, and with opaque glass partition for shower and wc cubicle - not to everyone's liking but we found it ok even with our young kid. The hotel is conveniently located in one of the top tourist spot but you shall be warned that the pedestrian street to the hotel is overcrowded and we have difficult to access with our luggage cart. The staff show us a back alley for access and it is way better - and you really experience the old charm of an ancient quiet city.

My stay at this charming hotel in the heart of Suzhou's traditional shantang street was wonderful. The location was perfect for exploring the city's beautiful alleys and canals. The breakfast was rich and delicious, offering a variety of fresh options to start the day. The ambiance was peaceful, and the staff were friendly and welcoming. Highly recommended!

I love this hotel, it's exactly in the middle of Shantang Street, we just step out of the hotel into shops & restaurants. There's even a small bar where we unwind our day. Beautiful scene day & night. The hotel looked newly renovated, very comfy & nice. The only downside was our taxi could not stop in front of the hotel, so we had to walk quite a distance to the hotel with our luggages. But overall, it was a pleasant stay, would definitely come back if I come to Suzhou again.

The Good : Location is amazing, inside a bustling pedestrian street, entrance is inside a shop, a bit confusing at first The Bad : We arrived at noon but denied entry due to cleaning, we have no problem with this, as we can leave our luggage and stroll around, yet the next day when we left early in the morning and at 11.30 trying to get back to our room, our key is not functioning, apparently the hotel has a system to remove the access at earlier than check-out time. Our room is in the 2nd floor and located in the corner, so it takes quite a distance to reach to the receptionist to solve this. Upon arriving and asking the reason why we are locked, the young receptionist girl didn't even do the basic minimum thing in service industry for troubling the customer and saying sorry for the inconvenience caused.
